I dont know if any of you saw this from FoxNews, but after watching this video, Im extremely pissed off! I mean, if my grandma saw this news video, she'd think I was playing a game with rape and child porn! This is an outrage! Where did these people go in SL? And WHY were they in that area to begin with! OMG..I want to choke this guy! Is anyone going to stand up to them?

Do I want my kid on SL? Hells no! I don't want any kids on SL and will fight tooth and nail to keep them out. But this guy is ill informed. What he and the rest of the world needs to know is that this is an adult oriented site. It boldly states as much, and yes I agree that parents need to be aware. Unfortunately many of them don't take the responsibility or precautions to keep their kids away from things online such as this. If a kid wants on, he/she's going to get on. No bones about that. For the moment I have my 15 year old bluffed. He thinks that there is a keylogger on my machine. He knows that if he pisses me off, his computer priviledges are done for. This is where I think that age verification will come in handy. If they get it right. _____________________

I busted her inputting a false age though... and I made her retract and correct it.. I watched the video and didn't hear a thing that was not true. We all know that children can get into the adult grid.........quite easily. I think I've heard everyone here sxpress their opinions and reasons why children should not have access to the SL adult grid.......why is it that a new blurp expressing alarm that children can do what we all know they can do (and don't like it either) causing such an uproar? How is it going to kill SL? Bad publicity where bad publicity is warranted is not a bad thing. Maybe, just maybe, such a news piece like that will kick LL in the ass and get them moving to do something about it.
Why is everyone so afraid of the truth? That news piece did not overstate the facts. It was about children being able to easily get adult content on the SL adult grid.......and that is a fact. I applaud FOX News for the exposing a very troubling flaw in how SL is operated..........we need a full blown news investigation in fact. Seems LL will not do anything until forced to do it.........and FOX is big enough in the news business to do that forcing. |

Right, so this Rep Congressman Mark Kirk has gone to the federal trade commission and they are getting legislation passed to put a warning label on SL. He fails to say that these areas he went to are in a mature area, anyway, and kids shouldnt even be there. So it pisses me off that they are portraying SL as some seedy game with drooling perverts in trench coats waiting for some little kiddie to skip by so they can grab them. I mean, I've never been to those areas, and I really hate that they portray SL this way..it really puts out a bad message, and HEY, Im trying to get some of my friends and family to join, dammit!

Stating that the main grid is 18+ is irrelevant. The way a child can enter the grid makes that fact irrelevant. If SL had safeguards in place to make it truly 18+ then that would be a valid point...........they don't so that argument is nothing but bluster. Give me a falsly stated fact from the video...............I heard none.
