From: Arilynn Karu Amaranthim gave you a very specific offer for help. I offered to help you in any way I can with your av. This thread is full of people who are trying to help, but you rebut every piece of advice.
I didn't rebut those offers, though. I didn't mention them because they require meeting in-world, which might not be possible due to timings.

More of Gabriele telling others not to help..
You only have to post the same thing over and over if you choose to..

From: Yumi Murakami More of Gabriele telling others not to help.. You only have to post the same thing over and over if you choose to.. See this is why you push people away Yumi, I have tried to help you. The fact that you don't want my help is not my fault. You have not even tried my advice. You are right though I have stopped giving the same message over and over and over again because it is pointless. If you do ever consider my advice I am sure it is firmly planted in your mind as to what that is, if not then repeating myself is a waste of time. I posted the dead horse because this thread is a 100% waste of time, not a single issue from months ago has been resolved to your liking despite all the answers being laid out for you. If you cannot recognise those as answers then that is not the fault of people posting them. Posting the same problems over and over again is solving nothing.

And as I have said.. the answers are all about settling and getting over things.. rather than changing the situation which is partly created by others including yourself. Again, it's the difference between sending a loneliness pamphlet and being a friend.

Again, it's the difference between sending a loneliness pamphlet and being a friend. That is what you see, it is what you are refusing to see in those posts that is important. With the current attitude you have, you will only see what you want to see (hint: and that will not be the solutions).

From: Arilynn Karu You didn't answer the question: What exactly do you want? I can't answer that. How can you define exactly what differentiates a situation where you're inspired and motivated from one with similar circumstances where you're not?

From: Arilynn Karu You didn't answer the question: What exactly do you want? Yumi wants SL to force her to be a success. She wants SL to drag her, kicking and screaming into the spotlight. If it does not then SL and it's people have failed her.

From: Yumi Murakami When you do a really good college course, are you kicking and screaming? You are not asking for that, stop confusing the issue. Claiming you are asking for that is easily refuted by reading your past posts.

A good college course features a _lot_ more than just the learning materials. There is a huge amount of psychological design in good teaching.

You cannot expect anyone to give you help to solve your problem if you cannot express that problem. Actually I don't think the problem is in the expression, it is in your expectations - which are impossible because it does not work in that way for anyone else.

From: Yumi Murakami Not at all. A good college course features a _lot_ more than just the learning materials. Still you are playing out an analogy that is not relevant to your problem. Either you are deliberately confusing the issue with this analogy or you are failing to understand something fundamental.

a better anology here would be a collage research project or report. It is up to you to choose a topic, gather material, and put it together in a coheasive way.

No, that's where I don't agree. SecondLife.exe could cause it to be like a college course, and I think many people would prefer it that way (and even if they didn't, it could be optional).

Well I think people here in the forums have pretty much spoken out and said they don't see it as a problem. You are in the minority, I believe. If you feel better in a more guided way, have you tried in world classes to learn what you want? Have you checked out Torley's vidio guides? What have you done to get the experience you want?

From: Yumi Murakami What is wrong with the analogy? It does not fit the problems you have complained about in your other posts. Your situation has been clearly communicated in more than a few posts that unless someone forces you to engage with them, shows the levels of enthusiasm that would border on being orgasmic, puts a gun to your head to motivate you, is forced to tell you exactly what items the market is missing and needs, etc. Then you will do nothing yourself as it clearly demonstrated by the fact are doing nothing about it. No college course is ever like that. Consider this, you have been in SL 4 years now. There should be nothing that a newbie can be told which they can understand and put into practical use that you should not know already in the areas you are interested in. Other people would have not waited for 4 years for their "sandbox luck" to appear but would have been learning to compensate for not having had that initial luck. That initial luck is very small potatoes when you look at 4 years of study. You chose to make it seem like it is the most important thing. You are wrong.

This isn't at all true. But they would need something continuous. From: someone Consider this, you have been in SL 4 years now. I'm still learning things when I experiment! That initial luck is very small potatoes when you look at 4 years of study. You chose to make it seem like it is the most important thing. You are wrong. Right, but study isn't the only thing. The person I think of as most having sandbox luck didn't just get to make an early start on study, she got accepted into a group that was making the items in question and which exercised cartel power over it. The study without the social side would be kind of fruitless, and that's what's missing. Likewise, even if she could study like I did, she had people available who were asking her about the things, correcting them, taking an interest naturally, etc - in other words, exactly the way that good profs on a college course motivate students. Now, technically yes a student could study without that. But profs still do it for a reason.

A religious man was at his house when the streets started flooding. As the water reached his yard, a firetruck came to take him to safety. "No", said the man, the lord will rescue me. The waters continued to rise and the man became trapped on the second floor of the house. A boat came by to rescue him but "No" he said, "the lord will rescue me". Finally, trapped on the roof a helicopter came to get him. Still the man, refused.
After he drowned and went to heaven, the man asked god why he didn't rescue him. God replied, "I sent you a firetruck, a boat, and a helicopter".
