Alright since Colette has declined by abstention, Trout's the new Treasurer, if that's okay with everyone. I'll send him some cash in a bit, to buy the first lot. Like Derbor said, there have to be 4 or 5 512's all next to each other, and whoever's gonna buy had better do it fast. Like Bradley said, who cares if it's pretty? It's going to be a biker bar. So who's purchasing again?

So far for initial land purchase and tier donation, we've got as volunteers:

Trout
Rioko
Nika
Bradley
Incanus

With these 5 also donating their free 512 tiers, that gives us a free 2560 plot of land, plus, what, an extra 10% for donating it to a group? So that give us a total of 2816 meters free and clear with out tier donations. But just in case...

Tier donations:
Oryx
Malachi

Initial donations toward land purchases:
Oryx
??

I have hung out lots of places in SL for days and have seen not even one of the 50 thousand that are supposed to be logged in. Sometimes it's almost creepy. I would love to stop by and say hello to the people I read daily here. I would give freely to a donation jar at such a clubhouse, if welcomed - though I may be a fish out of water in a biker bar. Maybe I could sing "Born to be Wild." I was a really great singer in SL before voice came along.

If you build it, we will come.

Wait - don't send me anything yet. Let's revisit tomorrow after everyone has a chance to see this. Then we can figure out how to make the purchases and how much we need to raise. I might create an alt just to hold the funds so they are totally separate from mine, and Nika and I have been talking about having me act as sort of a hub/project manager rather than the treasurer, just spearheading the project and making sure everything gets done. I think if I create an alt to make the accounting easier, then set up a spreadsheet for auditing purposes, I can handle both jobs, but I'm not doing this alone - I'm just volunteering to coordinate. We still need a land person to help out, some consensus on builders, and concepts to give the one or two builders so they can work their magic.

Okey doke. I just wanted to get a clear idea of who had stepped up to donate what. The only thing that I'm concerned with is land bots. If we find 5 parcels all next to eachother for cheap, I'd hate to have to wait for all 5 people to login, buy their plot, deed it to the group, etc, when a land bot could swoop in and grab that middle parcel. Hence the treasurer idea.

Well Malachi just sent me a great idea via PM; we should contact Sarah Nerd and see if she'll hold 5 contiguous parcels for us. VERY smart! He's also graciously offered to donate cash for the initial purchase. Thanks!

One thing we could do tonight is start looking for land.. maybe tomorrow we can have a list of landmarks to check out. Finding someone who knows real state would be good to have as a consultant to decide where to buy.

Count me in to help in anyway. I am goign to be travelling most of next week but I have the rest of this week and the weekend to work on this. I am ususally in-world around 8:30 PM

Don't search for 'pie' in-world without unchecking the Mature box. That's all I'm saying.

Heh, just did. There are certainly a lot more flavors than blueberry! O.O

I'll kick in some Lindens once we get things a little more figured out.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Ok, is this going thru the Cartel? If so, I probably need to make some adjustments to the abilities. and make Trout and Oryx owners too. :)

I will donate an AJ's jukebox, that way we can change music anytime to any style.

I also have a few poses, furniture, wood bar, and decor. The jukebox does come with a danceball, that has to be out to work the music.

I can also kick in some tier.

Also, The Kentucky Saloon, is always open for Forumites and anyone else that wants to hang there. Lots of beer, neon and a pool table. :)

I just talked to Sarah Nerd. She's got a parcel on St. Clair that she's willing to hold for us till friday, and sell at L$3000/512 parcel. It's a nice place. The only stipulation is that it's PG. Will that work, or shall I tell her to not hold it, and wait for a Mature lot to open up? She said that she gets new stuff all the time, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Opinions?

With this group, I would hold out for mature.
But that is just my opinion, based on the 600 post penis thread.

I'd be inclined to wait for something mature...I mean, no SLippendales on PG land.

Great idea, Trout.

We'll need a group to go with it, so we can send out notices and stuff. What should we call it?

No sense starting a new one, we are up over 60 members now, most of them regulars here in the forums.

Drat. Guess I'm out.

Mari

Sorry, Mari but once I get my act together I'll be hosting all-ages meetups at my place. Just seems like I'm in the wrong time zone.

Look up "A question about skins" or something like that Bod, you can't miss it.
It even had movies.

The REAL question is whether Chris and Bodhi are willing to strut their stuff...
