LOL, I have not had the pleasure. I would assume that anyone who has a sexgen bed is someone who is not prudish or easily offended by fowl language or sexual situations. Given that, I think an appropriate response would be to watch and laugh or roll your eyes and eject the couple. I can't see getting all that upset about it.

If someone's idea of 'your world, your imagination' is to be a virtual hermit, who are we to question or condemn them? The virtual world is big enough, and there are plenty of amazing builds and sims to explore. So you hit a ban line? Brush the digital dust off, rez a new vehicle, and keep going.

Really, what screws up my travels a lot more often than banlines are sim crossings, and there's no way to avoid those. Vehicles break, bounce off, fall through the ground, or your hair and shoes fall off, or get rammed up your @$$, or just hover beside you.

And many build homes and special places for themselves and their friends and family and don't really want huge flying vehicles cruising into that land.

What everyone wants in SL is something different from what everyone else wants.

You want to fly. I say go do it. Apparently, you'll have to do it somewhere else than where you are now. How you've run afoul of so many ban lines is beyond me. I fly, drive, glide, sail, parachute, scuba, and half a dozen other activities in SL and very rarely do I even bump into ban lines.

Hmmm...One point I just thought of. I do have payment info on file, and I do know many ban the "no payment info on file" group by default. Mainly to keep out return griefers using alts which they are unlikely to link to payment info. It may be something to concider as all you have to do is pay LL once and then your info is on file. That is a personal decision, however.

You mean people who buy space and want to decide who goes on it and how it is used. Or the ones who want to do whatever they want, go whereever they please without concern for others?

I am sure you do not pay anything, its is just a valid CC number and thats its.

I'm with you on this Maelstrom. i've never used ban lines on my land and never will.

If you are loged in and on your land you can eject/ban any unwanted greifer at a mouse click (and have fun with that ). if you are not logged in.. then nobody can do any harm to you or your objects or anything on your land. I always think people using ban lines removes the possibility to meet interesting residents that just goes around exploring the mainland. If you're not in a busy sim how many people per day will you see anyway ? and how many of them will actually be bad persons/greifers that won't just turn away if they see you're busy doing things..
what fun would be the mainland if *Everyone* had their ban lines up ? no fun at all and a lot of anger for all the newbies. (+ infohubs overcrowded )


As the analogy with rl... you don't have ban lines in rl and passers by can talk to you over the fence without being told explicitly by texts that you're not welcome here...

I think they are more an annoyance for everyone and should not have been created in the first place.

Tell me about it! You go and pay real money for some land, pay more money every month in tier, and then these people come along and act like they're entitled to use it whenever they want...

There are 3 levels of payment info:

None on File
On File
Used

Once you hit the last one, the only thing that can ban you is a banning of everyone, or by name on the ban list. That's why I say to pay LL once. Buy a month's Preium or jsut some L$.

The trick to going exploring on the mainland without constantly hitting ban lines is to look at the world map, get an idea where the roads or would be roads are (you can get clues by the shape of any for sale parcels near them) and teleport to one and walk it. You can explore for miles and miles.

But there is flight paths in RL as well as roads to contain cars. You don't buzz someone's house, nor drive through their yard. And locks work in RL, when they don't here.

As for the texts, yes, we do have them in RL. "NO Tresspassers."

How high do you fly? Above 768m is safe but boring. I personally find below that do be perilous. I think the win-win situation would be for LL to provide better privacy options to land owners and then update the mini-map to show red over "private" land so that flyers can avoid it altogether.

I fly at roughly 75m. Give or take a few meters in turns and rolls. The places I'm banned from that would go to 768m are places I'm happy to avoid anyway *chuckles* My glider-bike on the other hand rides about 2m off the ground. I still don't hit ban lines. I tend to stay out of people's yards, use roads and parks and cities and such. ie, I try not to bother people while I have my fun.

Though I do agree that a way to see ban lines would be nice. I liked the idea mentioned previously to toggle them on/off constantly as we can the property lines. That way, you can turn them on and leave them on while flying.
