With voice, lag, the gambling ban, the land dump and now this multi hour overage on the downtime, I would like to suggest the following as the official forum song:

For the first time EVER, I didn't keep looking at the login screen to see if the grid was up, I just went about my business in RT, with intermittent stops to check back here... Normally I bitch at least once when the time down goes beyond what they said it would.. today, I wanted to be a different me. I have always loved this forum.. people here are so damn cool.

By reading here on a regular basis I have even learned a few things about the workings of SL... I have also laughed my ass off more times than I can count... just wanted to thank you all * group hug* :D

Gonna TRY To get in now... because I waited long enough and I want to be in the mad crush of the first ones in!! Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

ROFL.. umm yeah.. "Despite our best efforts......." * grabs the bubblewrap, coffe and gets comfy.....

A second ago there was just under 7 k in.. now it is under 2k... THE END IS NEAR!!!!!!!!! lol...JK

*Ceka walks in from a ruff day at the office.her dog runs over wagging it's tail ahppy to see her..as she walks passed the computer while playfully petting the dog she turns the computer on letting it boot up.*

C'mon Jed lets go make some tea!!*The dog wags and jumps all excited*
Ceka returning from making her tea pulls her chair out and with a relaxing sigh clicks her SecondLife Icon*

*she says to herself *hmm i thought they were gonna do the weekly shutdown today..i'll have to ask someone when i finish logging in..

God why does the load bar always take so long..god!!!*Tapping her fingers on her mouse waiting for the bar to load*
ahhh finally!!! i swear they need to update some day!!jeeze!!!

"Logging in. Second Life may appear frozen. Please wait"

Should be replaced with

"Logging in, Maybe. Ok.. no but keep trying because we are getting a laugh out of it."

or

"Logging in. Second Life may frustrate you with lies of grid status and postponements"

or finally

"Logging in. You think maybe you would give up by now, but your an addict and addicts never learn"

I'm sorry? where are you posting again? That's right - the second Life Forum!

Your claimed job is irrelevant here and YOU have contributed nothing whatsoever.

In a perfect universe such agreements would be present with Linden Lab now wouldn't they?

They're not - get over it, move on, and make your own system if you think this one isn't being run the right way.

Oh - and yes, you ARE a 'kiddo' ... How many times have I said I'm killing time here and to ignore me if you don't like what I'm saying?

Okies I was trying to keep this friendly, there are a lot of Europeans that don't live in your world, but you turned it nasty :( I am not a kiddo I'm 30+ in RL there was no need for that :( I just have my own ideas which you do not appreciate not working in an IT Service delivery world.

LOL. That's the one playing in my head so there's no need for them to validate it on the screen.

Oh yes, and so everyone is on the same page ...

I'm not really a jerk - I simply don't have the patience for people that do nothing but complain that something is not working right.

Is it living in a fantasy world to take each punch as it comes, roll with it when there is nothing I can do to fix it or aid in the fixing, and get rather cross with people who compare whatever is not working to something from other aspects of their lives?

See, I love he;ping people in whatever way I am able to ... I don't complain about it either, nor do I complain when everything doesn't go the way I think it should.

the number of supposed IT professionals I see making complaints about Second Life leads me to wonder what sort of person they are if all they can or will do is spew meaningless words.

Me? I used to freelance in my hometown, fixing whatever issues were wrong with a customer's computer - if I could. I stopped after getting a few that kept having the exact same issues, even after being shown in the simplest way possible how to correct and prevent these issues.

I rather enjoyed laughing at the responses some of you gave me ....

to be fair though, I agree with some of what has been said ... Like I said, I was killing time and frustration.

Can you blame me?

:sigh: You have your way of avoiding frustration - I have mine.

Mine just so happens to include pointing out the obvious.

sorry ....

And we still need to do the rolling restarts after that!

That's where being in the UK, when we'll be sleeping as all that chaos hits, isn't such a bad deal after all.

I would so love to see 6 or so hours of downtime in US peak time and then we can all laugh at the "whining"... oh sorry concerned voices of paying customers.

*snicker*
