Be prepared for this sort of thing when dealing with a new system (and it is something most have not done before) and plan accordingly.

When I signed up I don't recall agreeing to be part of a beta test. I was offered a product and I expect that product to operate. If it's not big deal to you then you obviously have money to burn. As for me, I expect to get what I pay for.

/me fights the urge to celebrate the Euro whiners being in bed when the grid finally does open back up.

 You've topped yourself on that one.....

Like I said kiddo - either get a Job with Linden Lab and show them how to do it or make your own program and Grid.

I frankly don't care what job you claim to have - it's irrelevant here. This is not the place you claim to work at.

But Solar, he works for "very important people" aren't you impressed?

Some stuff I think LL do well and some stuff they really stink at.

RFC's, change management and release management are things they do really badly.

Taking your money they do really well !!

What...no, they can't even take my money well as I have for force feed it down thier gullets. They wouldn' take my PayPal, and my Debit card was useless because my bank thought it was all fraud (Flagged: Fraud Alert). Go figure :/

Now, fixing things until it's broke...yeah, I'll go for that...J/K.

Solar wtf are you on cuz i want some...you live in a very unrealistic ideal world...wake up and see the agony everyone is in waiting for this lol....by the way if you dont like the posts then leave this forum god we have a right to complain as paying residents...so i think its you who need to shut up not us

You think I care about the 'agony' people are supposedly in ... over a computer program and internet service.?

Please, you're making me laugh.

Not on anything - I just live in the real world, you know - that world where anything can go wrong and half the time you just have to roll with it or get left in the dust?

You should try living there sometime.

I mean like why keep the grid down while fixing it? Why not keep it up while fixing it..

You have maybe noticed that a lot of people buy things from vendors in Second Life, right?

We expect to be back up at 13:00 SLT (PST)
We expect to be back up at 13:30 SLT (PST)

Whats next lol

I'm not complaining that much because the downtime was extended,
but by the fact that they keep telling us over and over again, 30 more min, 30 more min, 30 more min.
So what do people do? Just stay on their computer for 30 min and wait to try again...

Now 3 hours have past waiting over and over again.
If I had known this I could have really used my time for other things.
I already told myself to just add another hour on top of what LL says, but still they can't manage it.

Hmm.. and LL will never read this forum :(

Well, Solar, I must say you absolutely are the perfect example of quite a few definitions which I won't say because it would sound like generalizing and people who do not deserve those labels would jump up high and start beating their chests. Nobody likes assholes though, except maybe other idiots. So.. um.. actually that kind of makes the point redundant since you won't notice anyway.

For the rest of you, good night and hopefully you'll get in soon.

I'm only an asshole to those who deserve it.

Anyone complaining because they haven't gotten their SL fix deserves it.

Now if you had a question in world about some client side issue or perhaps needed help building, scripting, getting more performance in the viewer or any other such thing ... I'd be much nicer and try to answer your question tot he best of my ability.

Great plan. I'll throw in nine black chickens, a goat, five ceremonial candles to put in a pentacle, and a virgin.

*blink* Where are you going to find a virgin in SL?

grand - guess what? You're testing a new system. Get over it.

Nope - I don't have 'money to burn' as I did the smart thing: I put in very little so as to prevent losing a sizable chunk of change when this does finally go down for good.

Okies, this post has made everyone know how immature you are. I'm not claiming to do anything I don't do, and for the record I'm certainly not a Kiddo ... if you don't work in IT and recognise Service Level Agreements and Quality of Service, then tbh you cannot really offer anything here, yes in a rose tinted universe we wouldn't have these issues but tonight SL has been down all evening. You need to understand how that affects other people instead of just you.

That is exactly the problem - if they'd said - OK, we've hit a snag, this could take some hours to resolve, fine, that happens - it's this 'ooh, hang, on we're almost there' thing that's driving me nuts. Now they seem to have shut up entirely - think I'll do the same and go to bed!

The first is making shoes at night while, you know, while the old cobbler sleeps. You can bake cookies in a tree. But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.
