One I heard when I was fairly new was " Hello I see you are new but i need someones help" "Sure if i can ";( this was before i learned more) " can you please help me with my balls"

/me snickers and glances at Immy, wondering if she remembers our (she and I) being dumped into an infohub on one of SL's "sorry your region is not available' days and the open chat discussion about balls......

Maybe I am something here but if you mute someone for saying hi dont that defeat the prupose of meeting them in the first place and possibly getting to know them?

But think of all the time she saves!

So Annabel.....how are all the tips and suggestions working for you? Are you still around?

Or did someone who has a weakness for dry-witted young English women who can spell and punctuate whisk you away?

Do Tell.

*shudders to think that a 13 yr old could have been cybering with an adult and did the adult know?*

My thoughts exactly!

I bet you and the all the rest of the women who have posted here have lied to their husbands or boyfriends, or at least kept the truth from them about something important. I won't even ask about the guys.

You're making some rather sweeping statements here ie. "I bet you and (sic) the ALL the rest of the women" (capitalization mine for effect).

In my case, I was married 18 years and never lied once to him. My personal belief is (emphasis on MINE, I am not speaking for anyone else here) that if someone lies on even a small thing, will they lie about a big thing. If I find that someone has lied to me even once, I can never truly trust them again.

Again, this is MY personal belief and other women who have responded very likely have differing beliefs and I respect that, but I'm NOT going to be included in your "all women here lie" statement.

Can't hurt to enter "Nice Guys" (in quotes) in All Search - they might be mapped!

LOL rha...that particular character and any references to him just totally creeps me out....in RL or SL. so if i have that aversion im sure some others might as well.

In the aforementioned club my partner and I used to work at, a man with that same last name and a first name that DEFINITELY implied *the* character visited. He said he was 75 (thereabouts), was a psychologist and wanted to see what SL was about.

He got a LOT of jibes about his name. He sent an IM to me when I was working asking if he could take me to dinner  I thanked him but told him I was partnered to (my partner in the same room who I immediately had in IM) and the Lector guy said "Of course I meant you both."

For about two weeks I kept getting IM's from this guy asking when we could set a date for dinner until my partner finally contacted him and politely said...never.

I've wanted to go to a sporty event for a while, but I can never seem to find one that I could get to (if I ever see one in events it is occuring when I'd be at work; or would be around 2 am when I might be awake but likely asleep). That and . . um . . what was that called. Geeko? I can't remember :( It is a table game played once. Would like to play that again but never seem to find anyone that wish to play games in SL. Game games, not money games.

Lexxi, I am going to contact you inworld maybe if we get the time zone issued worked out, perhaps we can find something interesting to go to.

I am beginning to think that lots of people in the forum enjoy making fools out of newbies with bad advice but I don't care. I have a date tonight in sl with a guy who seems to be on my wavelength and I didn't find him by hanging around sl hockey matches.

I left this message for you on another thread:

You got a TON of advice from people who were VERY helpful to you. You didn't like any of the advice.....after about 4 pages of not liking the advice....and not issuing a Thank You for responding and for the help.....whether you like the advice or not.....a thread will take on a mind of it's own.....which will include suspicions of people using alts to stir things up.

If you're going to open a thread, and ask for advice...I doubt that anyone will care whether or not you use it....as long as you acknowledge that you appreciate the effort.

On ANY message board, on ANY topic....a new person is going to take some heat....just the way it works....part of getting past this is to cordially acknowledge that you appreciate the efforts of those who took some time to help you.

For you singling me out with the bad advice....I gave you very helpful advice....even in a sarcastic way, which seems to be on your "wavelength"....I think that you and the fellow that I mentioned would make a fine match.

If you refer to the thread "How to make a profit"...there is a relatively new fellow there who is asking for advice on a number of subjects....and receiving it graciously....and the advice is outstanding. I would expect that the more gracious you are....the more forthcoming the helpful advice will be. He took a few licks, but came right back and kept ticking, with a great attitude.

And that all goes back to some of the original advice you were given....about Attitude. I would imagine that any guy who can wear the title "Good Guy" pays attention to that....who knows, it may just be step one.

I'm a nice guy.....so....I contacted Ms Lectar iw yesterday - she was offline so I left a message saying hello and introducing myself. She wrote back later and said .....sorry, I wouldn't touch any of the guys who post in the forums wiht a bargepole. And yes she misspelled 'with'. *gasps* So, not surprising that she can't find a nice guy. I personally don't think she really wants one after that little salvo. BTW she's insulting every guy here in the forums as well. I was going to respond but figured that it was a waste of time. *shrugs*

Yeah, I like all these guys to much to touch them with a bargepole either. That would likely hurt and would be mean.

You could make your profile less of a challenge and more of an invitation. A little attitude can be attractive, but too much and guys will think you are a psycho, or worse, really a guy.Put a picture in it as well.

Please put a nice photo in....

I have noticed an increase of butt and boob shots in peoples profiles..... taht is just scarey.
