@Lias Is there another group called Doers. :D From your description I have a picture in my head of the THINKERS group all being Victorian men with white beards.
Oh, wow. I saw your lonely hearts thread at 3AM and felt sorry for you - I assumed no one would respond. But your doing quite well here.

And don't be an ageist. The Thinker's guyz are great. And not all of them have one foot in the grave. But I understand that you want a happy medium between the Mafia roleplayer and the Little Lord Fauntleroy. Good Luck:-)

It's easy to find a good man. I suggest social activities, like Magic: The Gathering. Perhaps you've heard of it?

Honestly, I have found that it is a lot like RL - the harder you look, the less likely you are to find it.
Wow ain't this the troof?? And when it rains it pours. At times, you have no one interested in you. Then, you have several.

3) Less seriously what are the best and worst chat lines you have heard.

The best chat up line is also the worst.

"Hi =) Im new. Can I get some help please. I cant seem to fix my skirt"

Skirts zippers shoes flat tires whatever really. Can get the attention of any guy you want with this line in any world =)

There's a fellow that mills around here in the forums that you might want to meet.....kind of gather that he feels the same way about women as you do about men.....I bet the two of you could carry on a lengthy, enlightening conversation.

Just give the nod.....there might be a few ladies in this thread who don't have him muted, and can actually relay a message......but don't let that scare you.....I would wager the two of you could tango.

Kind of odd that he hasn't already made the move.

I think they'd be into each other in a way that's rare, perhaps even impossible, for two people to, er, mesh.

=)

I will remember this next time I have a flat tyre and a guy dragon comes along. Maybe a bit difficult for him to help with claws on. Hmm! But shrug and frown is good though. At least you stopped and I got your attention so my plan working so far. Not sure what to say next though. Ive never met a dragon on the side of the road before =) Do guy dragons like compliments ??? Guy humans do. Most of them do anyways so I probably just go with that and see what happens.

I was killing myself laughing all day Friday, waiting for someone to suggest this, as well as the suspicions that Annabel was my alt - you shouldn't be so paranoid Aes and Amar, but you can carry on, Elora! If I *had* posted here you would doubtless of accused me of further duplicity in talking to myself! And everyone was nicely squabbling without my intervention.

While I find Annabel's views interesting, I can't really comment on how dumb men are inworld, although most of the feedback I have had from my female friends tends to support Annabel's noob opinions. She and I wouldn't get on, I suspect, as she is too young, but I will IM her some suggestions and good hunting places. I won't publish them here as I don't want stalkers and refugees from the Undying Thread bothering me inworld.

Pep (As I said on the other thread, nor am I Cassandra, although I suspect Cassandra isn't actually Cassandra either. The same goes for Jack42.)

PS It's much more fun *not* making alts and seeing who you all "decide" who I am! Perhaps someone should start a "Thread of Paranoia" where you could all gather. Or is that the Undying Thread?

OK my question is in three parts like on Blind Date.

1) Where do I go in sl to find nice guys with good conversation. I mean straight men that don't think they are god's gift and don't talk as if they are texting. I have tried Sweethearts and Phats because I thought that the odds would be better on finding a diamond in a pile of rocks in a big place but that was a fail.

Try someplace nerdy. The guys who hang out there lack the confidence to think they are God's gift. And they actually read once in a while, which cuts down on the text-speak.

2) How can I attract the nice guys while scaring off the idiots. Is there any magic I can do with my profile.

The answer is volume.

From: Annabel Lectar

3) Less seriously what are the best and worst chat lines you have heard. Don't bother about hi, A/S/L and wanna.... as I have heard them already.

I would consider the best lines the ones where they don't emphasize on the difference between you and your avatar.

Example

"You look very nice, I love your dress it brings out the blue in your eyes."

Is far better than

"Your AV is HAWT, do you look just like your AVIE? "

Because we all know we don't really look like cartoon characters, there is no need to harp on about it - spoils the whole mood.

Tell me if you get the joke.

If you don't you haven't got a chance of getting it.

Say "hi" and you are muted

Which tells everyone to get lost.

The OP might very well be a troll, but at least not the usual forum antagonist type. We have manage to have a fun time with this thread.

Maybe I am something here but if you mute someone for saying hi dont that defeat the prupose of meeting them in the first place and possibly getting to know them?

I think the point the OP is making is that if someone can't think of something more original to say to them as an opening line than "hi", there is little likelihood of there being much benefit in wasting time trying to discover *exactly* how illiterate they are.

Pep (can understand the OP's attitude; does pretty much the same for people that miss apostrophes out of words like "don't" as well, or even the more correct "doesn't";)

Trypos don't count.

Pep (But misspelling misspelling is so self-referentially demeaning that I pmsl)
