You come off very superior in these posts of yours in this thread.

And really, selling the slave girl so she might end up as food in a furry sim? Really? That is what you came up with (and the mailbox, etc.)?

That just disgusts me.

Furries eat goreans!? Never heard of such a thing, but then, I don't get out much.

I was the one teasing about buying the gorean and gifting her to FurNation. I'd never do it - the thought of 'owning' someone even for a second really bothers me.

But if slavery is supposed to be acknowledged, well, wouldn't getting a gorean for FurNation be a complete validation of the culture?

And if you could leave a clearly ridiculous situation, well, that's actually freedom isn't it?

How much are these slaves going for, anyway? I'm terribly unfamiliar with all of this. $L 1 million enough?

I *do* hope I haven't given Mr Trout a Serious Idea... this isn't a ball I'd like to see anyone run with!

I'm never sure if it's about controlling other people or just that they have no imagination for pretending other people aren't there/don't look "different." Because it's only the Goreans that do that -- for all that my human appearance doesn't fit a Furry sim I've never been made to put on ears and a tail to talk to an anthropomorphised cat. There's trying to keep to a theme and then there's being difficult and hostile to outsiders.
*shrugs* I leave my cellphone on at Starbucks and turn it off at the opera.

I haven't had a Serious Idea since...I can't remember the last one. I'm sure it didn't turn out well at all, though. Have no fear. The thought of owning someone makes me equally uncomfortable. I was just running with the joke. I did try to attend a slave auction once, because I thought it would be interesting. I ran into banlines and refused to pay to get into the auction, so I missed the whole thing. I wouldn't have bought anyone. I just wanted to see what the big deal was.

I actually know a girl who went for 30,000L she was into webcam sex stuff though so I imagine that made her price a bit on the high end.

The girls trade hands a lot - Kinda like other SL relationships. So it stands to reason the prices aren't all that high.

Plus of course theres no guarantee she wont get a new account and just *poof* when she gets tired of tha Master or SL Gor in general.

My very limited knowledge suggests that BDSM slave prices run around L$20K. But apparently in Gor it can be a couple cases of wine or something.

Desmond, ignore this post.

I didn't say she should end up as food in a furry sim. I said she should be the target for weapons testing.

I did say they should turn her into a human mailbox post, though. That one was all me.

I've been disgusting women since the mid 70's - shortly after my birth. At first it was just my mom and sister, sometimes grandma and a few random aunts on Thanksgiving, but once I hit school and branched out to disgusting women of all ages and from all walks of life, there was no looking back.

I am, however, sorry I disgusted you.

I was trying to disgust Brenda and maybe Oryx, Lindal or Love. You were a casualty of friendly fire.

Edit: I've given up on trying to disgust Cherry - she's out of my league.

Sorry, it was all about the mistreating of the slavegirl that got to me. Taking out the hatred of Gor on the slavegirls. Well if they left and it was just the men sitting around taverns examining each others swords . . .

Cost? Everything from 0L to $L20,000 I have seen.

Validation? Have no idea what you are talking about.

The two sides seem to dislike each other. Gifting a Gorean slave girl to a furry sim, or gifting a furry slave girl to a Gorean sim where they would more than like get torn to pieces really disturbs me.

From the slave girls I've known I think standard prices are between 0-5K usually , Auctions can go higher.

The price is pretty low if the girl only belongs to the city and meets a Master who joins that city and they hit it off.

(YES! the Master and slave girl hitting it off matters in SL Gor)

have to remember a good chunk of the "Masters" are college boys who are spending their snack money.

Here is where I finally stop reading and post. I should just hit the RA link at the top of my screen, but alas...

Too many people are 'playing' Gor, not 'role-playing' it. I would wager a majority have never cracked a book, some wont even know how many there are. Most play an SL Gor, or online Gor, not a Gor based on the books. Perhaps just influenced by it, at best. I've read a majority of the books but not all, yet.

Lexxi, mistreating a slave girl? You do realize that in Gor, the books, slaves were nothing more than just animals to be done with as the 'Master' pleased, right? They were used for anything that the Master decided to use them as and no, it wasnt seen as mistreating them. So if someone purchased a slave and then left her out to be a chew toy, well, yannooo how that goes. Now, with slaves having limits and right or wrong ways to treat them, that isnt Gor by book standards, but by emotional standards. Slaves had no rights, unless the Master was in love with them, though even then....

This is why I never RP'd or 'played' Gor in SL. Its so very hard to tell who is doing it based on the books or based on a new version created by the area owner, er, Ubar. Granted, I wouldnt RP the way the book series is either, but a lot are claiming they are strict by the book and they clearly are not.

I've been temped to go and visit more places but was so disappointed in the first couple that I did see that I have resisted that temptation. I am amazed at the prices mentioned for a slave though! WOW. So, I honestly didnt realize they were being sold, as in, sold here ya go have a slave? Do the slaves then stay with the new owner?! That, amazingly, is very true to the books lol

One reason I would love to visit the sims, some very good and detailed builds. An explorers heaven, until you get captured

(Disclaimer, just to be clear, I dont like the mistreatment of ANYone, I was just trying to pop out a bit about how different Gor is in compared to what many that have read the books or RPd it in other areas (message boards etc) might expect. I think some (some, I said some, no generalizing here) of the treatment of slaves is extremely horrid, degrading and humiliating, but some seem to like it so, to each their own)

The slave is often asked if it is okay she goes to the new owner. So its not always quite like that. Some sims are different. And of course some slave girls want the choice taken away - those would be the ones usually who go up in the auctions.

Lol Colette, has the market collapsed since I explored Gor, lo these many moons ago?

Brand new right-off-street untrained Kajirae were going for ~$1500 (newbies to SL, destined to be city slaves, hopefully some knowledge from outside of SL or the SL BDSM community, and had no real skins or anything yet). In the sims I was around, real newbies to Gor and BDSM were simply taken under someone's protection until they learned a little bit, unless they fell into the hands of commercial slavers, who were discouraged from the official city portals, but were active in the markets and port areas.

I, as a marginally trained but promising Kajira with good verbal skills and some SL experience, decent AV and wardrobe etc., would have gone for ~10K at the time. I know because my Master wanted to sell me when his RL wife joined SL, at which point the whole thing became too laughable to continue, so I just left. To his financial chagrin, but he was nice about it.

lol! Good times ....

Well, if adding sex scenes to fascism is wrong, then by God, I don't want to be right.

I'm fine with the sex part. And people obviously get off on it so... yeah.

Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that people are happily roleplaying genocide in SL. Didn't we have some thread a while back on Nazi uniforms?

And the time some /b/tards (or was it W-Hat?) built a Furry Death Camp.

From: Desmond Shang
But if slavery is supposed to be acknowledged, well, wouldn't getting a gorean for FurNation be a complete validation of the culture?

Well, that's the thing. In the books the slavery is non-consensual (breaking the BDSM golden rule, I should point out in fairness to all concerned) but the women learn to love it because women are basically animals you can have sex with and enjoy being bossed about. In SL you can't involuntarily be a slave which means that the drudgework and unpleasant stuff tends not to happen. When was the last time you saw a "slave" in the black silks of menial labourers? It's slaveplay with a disturbing philosophy behind it, but like all submissive fantasies there's the control element of not actually doing anything you don't want to do. They don't *really* want to be treated like dirt, they don't really want all that goes with the institution of slavery. Using the word at all is a misuse, because consensual sexuality isn't remotely like the horror of slavery. That's why it's just the philosophy that bothers me, because there's a twisted power in giving up power. If you took out the misogyny, xenophobia, weird ideas about evolution, warped masulinity and other trappings of fascism you'd have a sexualised RP scenario where people didn't go about thinking that the "weak" should die because they think humans are... actually I'm stuck for a higher mammal that doesn't show some sort of social structure or compassion. Even wolves have been recorded as caring for the infirm.

Was around a year and a half ago I tired the gor thing. Those were the prices then.

They might be lower now, considering how consumer spending per person has gone way down.

Mine was less than a year ago. Sounds like prices vary according to the customs of the individual sims as well as overall SL market conditions. Interesting. I guess Gor is big enough to develop sub-sub-cultures, so to speak.

I personally don't understand how there can be a market for buying slaves. Either Gor or BDSM. There are more submissives than dominants, and sadly, there are very few *good* dominants.

If anything, the dominants should be the ones up for auction.
