Avie Descrimination

Oh, hehe, looking over this I see that I messed up. I posted the picture that doesn't really show me first because that is how I looked at the concert. At no time were my wings out and displayed when I was at the concert, but I received an IM telling me to remove my wings. The wings that were not visible (yes, I know the lag would probably be the same, I just point the non-visible part out as they had to take the time to examine my backpack and find the wings).

Heh, I'm not sure anyone noticed my kitty feet, at least until I pointed them out (not to imply that they would have minded; oh, I had looked around, but I never did see that neko there).

I might have just pulled off my wings and said sorry or something if I had some freebie wings stuck on, but in that avatar I'm an angel. To pull off the wings . . . ack. The wings are a part of me when I am in that avatar. As opposed to if I just go to a "best wings event" and slapped on some freebie wings just to have some wings for the event (not that I recall a wings event). I might have even changed avatars if the comment had been different.

Can't avs with huge wings fold them in? After all, birds don't walk around with their wings open. Although, butterflies do. Never seen an angel in RL, but I would think angels have the power to do whatever it is they wish. Just wiggle their nose and *poof*, wings hidden. Or is that what witches do?

Heh, that is what my first picture is that I posted. My wings folded. I'm an "undercover" angel. When I do not want people to know I am an angel, I fold my wings up. I then "hide" them but making them appear to look like a backpack.

(@ Soji- but any one that wants them, let me know- they were freebies when I got them - and so was the water so..) Want some water textured ones, btw? I took some freebies and doctored them- remind me to drop you a pair if you like.

And you are absolutely right- to somehow get back to the beginning of this - although we are people and not born to the wings or the fur or what have you -when you are that avi it is you- it still smacks of discrimination-

Now- I never considered lag- it may well be that is a valid reason- then please make the reason available. All I know is, that had been a tough day for me all around and the one thing that would have made it fun would have been a dance- and they ruined it with anti-fur stuff- AND I WASN'T EVEN A FUR!

If you have wings that do nothing, that just sit there. Do not flap when you fly . . just do nothing. Then you have whatever lag the prims in the wings would cause.

But. My wings, and many, do move. They move by using scripts. Mine also has a script that folds the wings, or releases the wings. That particular script is always active.

The prims of the wings, plus the script = lag. How much? I have no idea.

Oh, and many, but not all, furs involve multiple prims. Most women's hair, though, probably contain more prims than most "simple" furs. Oh, I know, many men's hair would also have more prims than most "simple" furs. I just, personally, try to find hair that wouldn't look better on a woman.

I agree, I love my wings, but often where I go it is too crowded or laggy to display them. My set of wings have a hide feature, or I can simply detach them. I do so on the grounds of courtesy. But to walk up to an establishment that simply posts -no furries, or go away we dont want you wings here. Show courtesy, let people know why. Give them a chance.

Personaly I don't care if a place is furry freindly or not, I do care if the management is courteous. I place a lot of value on respect.

To cut a long story short - your land, your rules. I sold my only piece of land not so long ago, but when I owned it furries were banned there too.

Honestly, the whole formal attire is lame to me which is why I would never go into such a sim.....as I find it boring

but... It's the natural thing to do!
