From: Kaimi Kyomoon It almost sounds as if what they really meant to say was "Children are welcome". and "We might not accept builds that aren't pg." And only accidentally got them both into the same sentence. I hope this all turns out to be a mistake and we get to enjoy the kids' build.
Marianne, your pictures are great I often click on the link in your signature.
We don't need no education. That would be a great theory, but when combined with Mari's rejection letter and subsequent discussions, it doesn't seem like your theory is correct. Unless they can actually come forward with some reasons why her photo exhibit was rejected, we don't have a lot to go on.

From: MortVent Charron Thanks for the marbles in the mouth image...and in revenge : what if the reason they only rarely communicate is because they only have one set of marbles to put in their mouths? And I double revenge you and wish you a mouthful of those candy peanuts that were being discussed on Another Forum.

From: Argos Hawks If Mari's exhibit doesn't get accepted, someone really needs to build some of that and get it into the party somehow. It would be sensational to just build it and perform it at at the party, either way...turn on voice turn on the new Lip movement, and play the music to semi-lip sync. now that I'd like to see.

Well, the blog comments were closed when i woke up this morning, but this is my reaction to it, I used that text in our Kids5B group communication:
*** Hi everyone
As the one who had the idea of Kids5B as reaction of LLs first decision of not allowing contributions of the kids community, I'd like to thank each and everyone out there, residents and from LL, who showed us support in any way. The ammount of support, the offers of help and the donations are overwhelming and showed us, that the original idea of Second Life of "Your World, Your Imagination" is still alive.
Now as I see it we are allowed to present ourselfs, and not just by "a build made by people who happen to be kid avatars" but by really presenting the kid avatars. This is great news, and it restored lots of trust that was lost already in LL.
The only problem now is, that we already did an amazing amount of work within the last few days. Of course, some people could say now "You should have just waited a few days." Well, with such a close deadline that wasn't possible. For myself, I'm happy about the turn of decision and show my deepest respect to those who stood up for us. I know that there will be other contributions from within the kids community for SL5B. For Kids5B it seems the way to go is to offer the whole project as contribution (I still have to talk this through with some others, just wanted this comment into the blog before the comments are closed - I am not the one making single decisions). We would be present at SL5Bs "official" place with a small information stand (as example with a 3rd sculpty model of our 2 or maybe even 3 SIMs) and staff to present us.
These are my first thoughts after catching up with the nights happenings. Thanks again for all the support.
Danny

It's none of my business really, but I'd kind of hope that the Kids5B builds will relocate to SL5B. It just seems to me to be the graceful, "mending fences" response--productive, I think, for an inclusive SL6B in '09. I've been deconstructing corporatespeak texts for longer than I care to admit, and this whole episode reads like an extreme example of face-saving. Now, that in itself is kind of bizarre, coming from LL--not an outfit with the prettiest visage anyway, lipstick notwithstanding--but understandable: If they openly admit that they actually reversed a stupid decision because of public pressure, they'll just invite the public to pressure them to reverse every stu-... wait. Uh. Never mind about that. So they're hiding behind the past-tense marker in Everett's massively post: that they "respectfully decline the submissions we received," as if each of the ones they received at that point were flawed in some way. Now, of course, if pressed, they can surely find something incomplete with any submission, so they've got a way to justify the prior actions without having to admit that an embarrassing policy ever existed. And in a way, maybe we're better off this way. Do we really need to hear a Linden trying to explain what was behind the previous policy? That's one strand of tortured text I'm more than happy to be spared.

Yes, we definitely don't want to separate the celebrations, but we are not talking about builds here but about complete SIMs

From: Argos Hawks That would be a great theory, but when combined with Mari's rejection letter and subsequent discussions, it doesn't seem like your theory is correct. Yeah, considering that people were in contact with LL, at least two organizers stepped down (with SignpostMarv explicitly saying the exclusion of child avatars was one of the reasons), and the current clarification changing the tone of the exhibition a bit, I get the feeling there is some revisionist history going on here. But unless future actions prove otherwise, let us assume that a fairly workable compromise has been reached, verbal tap-dancing or not.

Mari That's what you get for being a rebel to the system. "I will show them.. I will submit anyway! What? I was excepted? oh no." Congrats Mari! I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Mari That is really great news. It must have been quite an emotional week for all the people at the center of this issue. Many thanks to all of those that have been in direct contact with LL to work things out.

Always knew she was to nice, no wonder the boys rather hang out with her then me, or could it be because I set fire to all boys I see? /me warms up her firespell as she sees one for her brothers walk in.

That alone is telling of the disingenuous way in which this was handled. From: Marianne McCann None. It was the same application dat was "respectfully declined" last week.
