From: Marianne McCann Too funny!
Torley and Ravenelle came by Kids5B last night -- and when Torley transformed... no, not a kid. A cardboard box. Oops.
Much fun was had. Meghan Dench came by, and she turned into a pretty teenaged girl, who then put her SL5B lanyard back on. I think she may have even gone back ta SL5B as a kid! My friend Meridith McMahon got turned into the box too. Quite funny!

From: Caitlyn Clawtooth Wish I could have been there. Too bad the time zone difference means that night in California means 'WAY too late' here. Lookin forward to the pics! Check Snapzilla for me, Immy, and Torley Olmstead's streams. From: Sarkany Munz Was it at least watermelon colored? nope! For that matter, Torley was only partially watermelony when he got there. A hat and the trademark eyes were it. From: Ceera Murakami *Gets this funny image of 20 or so SL kids playing "world ball" and passing that giant bear around on their hands...* Sounds like some of the gym exercises from HardKnock Elementary! Torley sure did look different than all his different looks I've seen from his videos. Maybe he was trying to be incognito...lol. Off topic - Sometimes when I go to a Snapzilla page there is a place I can see the photos as a slide show and other times (like most recently) I couldn't find where to do that. Help, please? And thanks

Hi
Their party, their rules...is it really to much to ask to be an adult avi for a day?

Very Sad
06-28-2008 03:06
That is so sad. I just recently opened a kids shop, and happened to find this post... That is incredibly saddening. I've met a lot of child av, and they are not what I'm sure most people would think. They simply want to relive thier childhood. Who wouldn't like to go back in time once in a while?
Secondlife is supposed to be a place where everyone is free to be who they *want* to be. Sometimes people are young at heart and want to swing, or go on a slide, and would feel silly to do it irl. In fact go to most popular shops and you will find PARKS and play areas! Most of us want to feel young again occasionaly... I'll bet thier are adult avs out there who go to the adoption agencies on sl because perhaps they are unable to have kids in real life for one reason or another. And I KNOW thier are child avs out there who, never had caring loving families, and want a chance to at least taste it... I hope some lindens read this and think about it. Because not everyone is devious, some of us are quite innocent inside. :`{

Maggie They were not banned from being a child avatar in order to visit. They were told we don't want you to show off anything good about children AVs in SL, but hey you can still come see all the reasons SL is great!

From: Magdalena Siemens Hi Their party, their rules...is it really to much to ask to be an adult avi for a day? Maggie Their Bus, their rules... is it really to much to ask to sit in the back of the bus when you ride? Ok, perhaps that isn't an exact comparison, but SL wanted the residents to show off all the good in SL, and those who want to experience the magic of a child, esp when they may not have been able to as a real child is a good thing with Second Life.

From: Magdalena Siemens Hi Their party, their rules...is it really to much to ask to be an adult avi for a day? Maggie Any request or demand, no matter how reasonable it seems at first glance, is really only as reasonable as its premise. And if you read these posts carefully, I believe you'll see that it's the premise behind the request that people here are taking issue with.

Maggie Why would Linden allow the creation of child avatars if they would just be excluded from an event so important? Like it or not, child avatars are a part of our world, and there is never an excuse to discriminate, unless people are acting like idiots. Your pal Johnny (always an adult avatar, but a kid at heart)

From: Magdalena Siemens Their party, their rules...is it really to much to ask to be an adult avi for a day? Couple things: 1. This was not initially "their party." This was a resident created event that they stepped into, with less than a month until opening, and started to apply rules. 2. Yes, after they did that, it was their pace to make the rules. It was also our (the residents of Second Life) place to tell them if their rule stinked. 3. This wasn't about what avvie you choose to wear for a day -- kids were allowed to added as kids -- it was about disallowing the content created by and promoting the existence child avatars, which have been welcomed at the event for at least two years previous (and the year before that, LL encouraged everyone to show up *as* kids to the event). From: Pussy Doboy That is so sad. I just recently opened a kids shop, and happened to find this post... That is incredibly saddening.
