From: Marianne McCann Blech. And no, it does not make sense. Where exactly have you seen these kids?
So.. can I have... (jes kidding) Oddly enough, they were in a Mature club and the owners weren't ejecting them, in spite of their nasty behavior towards all of the adult avis there. Look, I don't care if you want to spend your life here as a Kid. SecondLife is all about being something or someone you can never be in real life. A fantasy. But please don't think because you're a child in SecondLife that it gives you license to be hostile, and gives you the right to my linden or anything else I "own" here. If I want to give people what I have, I give it freely. But I'm not going to respond to beggars. You don't endear yourselves to other residents when you act like that. And no, I'm not saying ALL child avatars act this way, but enough do that it stands out, and is probably why they're banned from the birthday function. I don't think it's right to ban a whole group because of what some people within the group do that ruin it for the rest. And really, child avatars are all adults under those body shapes anyway. So why not let them in?

I've not seen much like this in kidspace, but I do recall, about a year or so ago, a couple "kids" who were trying to scam by getting adopted into (often multiple) families and making outrageous demands on their new parents. They dun tend to find themselves too welcome. If I were the club owner, I woulda bounced them. 'sides, why were they beggin' in a club anyway? From: Kaimi Kyomoon Thanks Mari! Here's kid me having fun. I'm going back later to see the stuff I missed. Spiffy! Mari

I have encountered urchins begging for coins, but I usually tell either tell them to be off and get a good honest job sweeping airship chimneys or working in a prim factory - perfect for a child, I always say - or, occasionally, give them a couple of lindens on the stern note that they are not to spend them on gin. I'm sure that they are off to the gin palace as soon as I turn my back though.

From: Sredni Eel I don't mind the child avatars, but I do mind that most of the ones I've run into beg me for money and then get nasty when I won't give them anything.
I got called a pedophile by someone because I refused to give a child avatar anything. How does that even make sense?
But I think a birthday party should allow kids. This ain't the first time I heard of little extortionist beggars. What's up with that? (>_< I can't make sense of it myself. I'm usually bratty and make a mess, but I never beg or accuse anyone of stuff that didn't happen. I think it's pretty lame for someone to run around in any avatar asking for monies and then making up stories when there's no payup. Did you get a chance to read these "kid's" profiles? Did they come across as people that were full time kids? I would sooo be in the mood to smack them up if they were! (>_< And, yeah, some of us have no problems in "mature" clubs half because we might know the owner or staff, or because the club may be extremely against avatar discrimination... As long as we stay off the poles and tip jars. (^_^) I know I get invitations from my Hanja friends to some wild clubs and events often. If I gotz the time, I'll pop on some electrical tape, shortie shorts, some wild hair, and join in a party or two. Never said I was a good'n. (^_^)y

If I gotz the time, I'll pop on some electrical tape, shortie shorts, some wild hair, and join in a party or two. Never said I was a good'n. (^_^)y Nah, I'm notoriously bad about looking at profiles sometimes, mostly because when I'm in SL I'm busy tracking down songs to play for people and don't have time. But at the time I was just standing there, so my excuse was just that of shock that someone would actually accuse me of something like that. I only remember the first name: faunna. I suspect that they are half and half child/adult. I've seen some child avatars that behave fairly well in adult situations. Good for them. SL is about having fun, whether you're here as a child, a guy in a female avatar, a velociraptor, Borg, or even in a jello avatar. Have fun and don't make it hard for others to have fun while you're there. And I also don't think clubs and events should discriminate, as long as the patrons aren't disruptive in any way.

From: Sredni Eel ...And I also don't think clubs and events should discriminate, as long as the patrons aren't disruptive in any way. It's not so much discrimination that keeps kid AVs out of some clubs... We really look out of place most of the time and there is the risk of confusion over our intent in being there. Or, should I say "my", I'm not sure about how many people actually do this. (=_=) And, I'm sorry you had to go through that... In my mind, you had every right to AR them for harassment. There are some accusations that should NOT be tossed around lightly! (>_<

(>_< I suppose I could have reported them, but I found it much easier to mute the little bastards at the time. Ether rags also work really well. I'm not really worried about my reputation, since people seem to like me, in spite of this one occurance. I actually kind of think it's neat that people want to be children. It's not my thing, but I've seen some of them have a lot of fun, which seems to be missing from a lot of second lives lately. In fact I welcome any child avatar to my Hogwarts event on Tuesday night next week, if you want to come. I'll even be playing Harry and the Potters. The club says Mature, but it's my event and you guys are all welcome. Read the profile picks. My only caveat is you have to dress in theme.

Too funny! Torley and Ravenelle came by Kids5B last night -- and when Torley transformed... no, not a kid. A cardboard box. Oops. Much fun was had.

Hmmm ... one of the bears was buyable and another not ..... oh well, hopefully it will get fixed. The bear on the right side of the entrance is buyable, the identical one on the left is not. The other buyable Linden Birthday bear is the HUGE one on the roof! OMG! Better bring 20 friends to help haul it around! *Gets this funny image of 20 or so SL kids playing "world ball" and passing that giant bear around on their hands...*
