It’s pretty rare for LL to reverse an announced decision, even an unpopular one. So when LL quietly reversed its decision Tuesday to exclude kids from exhibiting at SL5B, this was a real win for “Kid Power”. *grin*

But much more important than the uproar from within our community is is the tremendous support from *outside* our community. The protest resignations of SL5B organizers must have really made an impression on LL, and we are all really grateful for the sacrifice these people made in the name of principle. The novel use of the jira (MISC-1231) must have also made some impression, as well as the many forums and blogs, including this one (thanks Danny). I have been pleasantly surprised at the overwhelming support for us, and the relatively few hate-mongers.

Thanks to all who led this protest initiative, and thanks to Danny, Sacha, Koff and the many other organizers and builders of Kids5B. We protested, we blogged, we voted on the jira, we created our own alternative event … and, for the moment, I’d say that we won. We showed the best within our community. We got LL to rethink the way that they view us, which hopefully will set a positive precedent for the future.
