Mistress,

Aimee and I certainly disagree on plenty of things, but mostly on the details. We both agree that we HATE people selling other peoples' works. I'm very disappointed in Imagoel, I thought she was better than this... but apparently she is not.

I'm also disappointed the Lindens have not yet done anything, but I've barely seen any in world. Has anyone tried IMing them in world, bringing them there, and having them take care of it immediately? Try Michael, you were there the last time this happened... and he helped us immediately! :-)

Given Siggy's post, this is a repeat offense of the worst nature.

As for Aimee's idea about something resident-run, its a good idea. I think RATE would be a great start to this, but haven't heard much about that lately.

Regards,

-Flip

I wish a Linden would tell us!

By the way, I neg rated her for reselling other people's stuff, and of course she neg rated me right back. :( It's so frustrating that there is literally nothing anybody can do about this.

-aimee

There is one thing. Don't buy ANY of her stuff. Even the stuff SHE made. Till she stops selling other peoples things.

Good question, Sens.
Has anyone?

My thoughts on all this:

Look, its understandable that bugs happen.
What is INFURIATING about this particular situation and situations similar to it (the long, long list) is that the Lindens will not act **consistently** to fix the exploitation that is happening BECAUSE of thier bug.

You drop a glass of milk.
It happens.
It isnt a problem until you decide that you would rather ignore the puddle and let it get crusty and stinky rather than getting a towel and mopping it up.

I suspect this is just something they say. I'm not sure. Who did you speak to?

They've had a lot of time to "review the data". I'm looking over my notes, and I contacted Rheya Linden about this November 14th, and I followed up with Char Linden on November the 18th. (abuse reports before then)

Char told me she was "coordinating with the abuse team on that." Since that was over a month ago, I assume that the Lindens have resolved to do nothing about it.

I went to check the place out (I even stood on someone elses land since I don't even want to give dwell to someone who does this kind of thing) and I noticed that most of the items have "nobody" as creators. I refuse to purchase anything from this person just to check if the real creator's name shows up, so can anyone recognize their items amongst the ones being sold or has purchased any of the items to discover the creator's name? I found two items that had other people's names as creators (I don't know if these people gave their consent for their items to be sold though):

1. there's a green bed (I think it's named "porn bed" or something like that) made by Tala Fate
2. there was also a hot tub ("love tub";) with a notecard from Azelda Garcia and a bunch of things in the contents that had "nobody" as a creator.

:(

The last time I saw a problem like this, Mistress and I went to the spot, neg rated the person, sighed, had a laugh together, and I put up one of Cubey's "RIP OFF ARTIST" cubes. Before she and I had left the location, Michael Linden had already shown up - as fast as we did from the forum post - and removed all the items and taken care of the rip off artist. We thanked him and moved on. What more do you expect?

Regards,

-Flip

awwwwwwwww that's why nothing was there when I went to look!!! damn i thought you all posted the wrong location. :p

Kats: Well Mistress' hair showed nobody in the vendor but when I bought it and put it on the ground it showed her name.

I had 3 objects in my inventory that I created and they had the same names as some other creators.... anyway I mixed up the items and put them in my vendors.
However ... the reason I didnt remove the items was because this shitty midnight mafia started rating me negative and send me bad IMs ... instead of talking nice to me and asking me whats goin on. I didnt see I was selling the wrong items before they started sending me treathnan IMs and rating me negative.
so the reason I didnt remove the items was I got mad ... and I still am!

Blackslough, 194, 125. THE hair salon.

There's another pirated store across the street owned by the same person.

PLease check and make sure your items have not been yoinked underneath you and sold.

Most of the items that are pirated have a "nobody" creator tag, so it's obviously an exploit.

I know Imagoel Best as you are talking about. and I understand why she did what she did. Some people from Midnight city started rating her negative and sending her naughty IMs instead of asking her what she was doing... and it was a mistake that the hair got sold from her vendomachines. I would have done the same ting (not taking it off sale when somebody were acting like babies.)

and about that other shop nex to the hair salon ... I checked all the items and Imagoel created them all. Give her a break... I mean you guys started all this!

What?

Oh come on, let's play the sympathy card some more.

When I went to her store, something like 70% of the items being sold had the "nobody" creator tag. To me, that smells like an exploit. And an exploit smells like poo.

Launa Fauna found her hug animation for sale.

Mistress found her hair extensions for sale.

I don't want to hear a boohoo story about it. She was exploiting a bug to sell stuff, end of story. If she's truly in the wrong, the Lindens will rectify it. If we're in the wrong, we'll know soon enough.

Well, I'm mad at you right now. Can I copy your stuff and sell it? I mean, I'm all mad and stuff. It'd be right, you know? Cause i'm mad.

Wait, see, that makes no sense.

I saw the same thing LordFly does, so this "cry me a river, its a mistake" DOES NOT WASH.

Especially since Siggy - a wise ass, but an honest wise ass - says this is a repeat offense. You don't make mistakes this this twice. Its an OBVIOUS crime. Trying to cover it up by saying its a mistake sounds like something an Enron executive would do... or maybe Union Carbide!

LordFly - you can ONLY sell her stuff if:

(1) you're mad
(2) you got her items through either a bug in the system or an exploit you found
(3) you're a lying, filthy, worthless thief

Unfortunately, I know you're not #3.
