In retrospect I think today was a shameful day, one for the top 10 wallowing in the slime threads.

All the personal insults delivered to me because of my beliefs. What did Lecktor, my supposed friend Lecktor write about me because he didnt agree with my posts. Personal insults and cursing.

What did Ardith write about me because she doesnt like lawyers? Personal insults.

What about Weedy? Cienna? Out of the blue they trolled the thread to add their insults to me.

Are you all feeling good about this? This is exactly the type of conduct I meant about the treatment Anshe suffers merely becasue people do not like her, or her business practices.

Name calling is what kids in third grade to and yet here you are, all you adults complaining that kids might sneak into the main grid, and here you are acting like name calling children.

You accomplish nothing except the reflection it makes on yourself. I never met or spoke to several of the people who insulted me today, and really Ardith, if you dont like my post, or anshes post or anyones post, isnt it possible to state that without the insults? Yes it is if you would give it a try.

And to my "friend" Lecktor, shame on you.

Save for the crack which I edited, there were no personal insults. There was a comment about your lack of decorum, and my utter dislike for lawyers as a whole. On your side, there was that charming little "black heart" comment. In the balance of personal insults, your account is way overdrawn.

If you consider your behavior to be so rephrensible that the mere mention of it's an insult... what can I say?

Ok I am not even through the first section of this transcript, and we already have talk of Anshe filling the voting ranks with her renters, and Prokofy suggesting he lower the rent his tenants pay in exchange for support. My lord, how corrupt can a group be?

I suppose I expected more subtle and complex corruption, not the blatant, Enron kind. At least tobacco industry corrupt, this is just amateurish.

I'm not at all suprised it reared its ugly head this soon, in this unholy alliance.

Well they lost a lot of members tonight, but mostly through their own deceptions and lies, which became transparent as hell after about 3 hours of non-stop arguments about voting vs. not voting for officers and appointing new officers and giving the "Jeksa Linden right or wrong Litmus Test" to decide who was worthy. So much for equality, openness and stakeholders of all walks. We all walked.

I am glad you were able to see through all of it, there is definitely hope for SL. I am reading this transcript literally stunned. It is like a textbook example of corruption. i could not make this stuff up if I tried!

It wasnt a matter so much as seeing through it, as much as giving the ideals a chance to be demonstrated and the groups effort failed. It was really no more and no less than that.

I do think the ideals are worth it though, and I will continue to advocate equality and even handed treatment for all members.

Agree with you Katykiwi, but not in any groups or clubs or governments or special interest groups or ngo's or whatever they want to call them. Advocating can be done outside a group. Can it be done effectively? Who knows, but at least I can be tainted by my own stupid remarks and not by affiliation with someone else's.

I have said all along the ideals of the group were fine - it was the leadership that was questionable.

With the twin paragons of venality floating around, you'd have to be one hell of a corrupt lawyer to even approach that level of evil. Well from where I'm standing, when you have one person pushing to get people not to talk in open chat, you have someone else talking about reducing the rent of tenants for quid pro quo, talk of keeping out riffraff by moving quickly, and filling the group ranks with renters of properties owned by an officer, it seems that several people don't come off looking very sane. Again, I am not even 1/4 of the way through this thing.

No I dont consider my behavior to be reprehensible. There are professions I do not respect such as politicians, but I try not to hate the person becasue they feel differently and decide on that career path. I guess were I raised with hatred for those who are different or make different choices then I might feel differently.

I know I have accomplished good things in my career that are far from the reprehensible conduct you attribute to lawyers, and I gain a good sense of accomplishment from that.

I still dont understand why lack of respect for a profession or an idea or ideal manifests in lack of respect for the individual. Guess thats also the way I was raised.

You know, I just read the earlier transcript on SLUniverse, and Malachi's post on why he was banned - for referencing Charlie Chan and Chan-speak, in a comparison.

What a lot of contempuous, condescending, manipulative horse shit. I was wrong for taking a moderate point of view on the group's leaders and its various apologists, deflectors, and self-righteous censors on this thread.
