From: April Firefly I almost hesitate to post this as I do not want to attract her attention. Why is that, April ? Maybe I was away from here too long. I'm not sure if I ever knew Ulrika had some sort of reputation, but if I did I had certainly forgotten it. I try hard always to stick to clear issues and unacceptable behaviours to get my teeth into, regardless of who the personalities are. Should I deduce that I made enemies of a vindictive little gang who will go for me at every opportunity ? This is only a guess from your posting, but forewarned is forearmed, so please PM me in private, people, if I am to expect irrational personalised vendetta from unexpected quarters. The old mistress of it, Prok, never lets up even now, I notice occasionally. I am expecting a veritable deluge of paranoid insults and twisted allegations from her if I ever lift my head up from behind the protection of that soon-to-be-dead precious permaban which saved our forum-culture so long ago. PM me guys. What should I expect, that April shows such concern ?

From: Uma Bauhaus I've specifically designed it to wander about a sim at a high altitude such that it doesn't even need a plot of land. Frankly, I just love Burning Life and am happy to contribute and share in the artistry whether or not I have a plot of virtual earth. See you all there! So... after 'sploiting the entry lottery and having the 'oh shit - I got 2 plots!' - you're taking the 'moral high ground' by offering to return one (mighty white of you I should add)... I can sort of see the fucked up logic in that.. I think it rubbish - but I can see it.. But upon getting both plots taken - you say 'eh - fuck em!' and have your build there anywhere? Even if it were temp on rez and wasn't taking prims from other people who DID get plots - it would be putting a load on the server in an event already notorious for lag - and in need of resources for people wanting to VISIT the event. So really you're not contributing at all - you're detracting and flipping off the people who are. As for me - I didn't even enter this year - I figure I had a good run by being in the last 2, and it was time for someone new to have a chance at it. *THAT* is contributing - and I'm not too impressed at people trying to screw up my contribution to Burning Life; the chance for someone new to express themselves.

Not really - more like making enemies with the Peoples Front of Judea from Life Of Brian...

You know. I've thought about this for days, and finally, have come to a conclusion. Ulrika is not only wrong, but knows she's wrong, and is reveling in the fact. Ulrika, I have no intrest in you anymore. You have a tendency toward the dark side of cunning, and lack simple morals that makes it impossible for me to relate to you. While I'll not go out of my way to harm or speak ill of you, I'm absolutly going to warn anyone about you who asks. And to think, I was under the impression that Ali's issues with you were just a localized dislike. Now I find out she was far from exaggerating. <sigh> I guess I have an apology to hand out. And for the record: You can't 'accidently' have an alt apply for a burning life plot. You had to do it with premeditation. The fact you then said you didn't note in the rules where you should not have done it is beside the point. You KNEW better. Or you didn't, and we all need to lock up our silverware when you come to visit. Neither way of thinking makes for a good rep. Anyway, I hope someone useful get's that other plot, and can make up for the wasted one left behind. Good Day.

Are you getting your fill you drama-hungry bastards? Complaining, accusing, and namecalling are like nectar to you forum pigs. (Yeah, I love it too.) In reality, if you check the BL entry list, you'll see that Ulrika and Uma registered for the land lottery one right after the other. Logically, speaking, given that everyone knows that Uma and Ulrika are one and the same (Uma is gigglier), why in the sweet name of moses would I do that, if I knew it was against the rules? Instead, I would have used one of my perfect alts. In my head, I was thinking as I shot in the two entries, that it was so nice that LL has finally given up on connecting alts with a single user. They've quit verifying accounts. The forum is filled with alts. Great! I'd like a lot for Uma and Ulrika -- and you know they'd both be spectacular. If that obvious logic doesn't work for you, read the thread Vares linked to and see where I finally get a clue. It's patently obvious I did something stupid. Although, I recognize for those who have a personal beef with me, that this is a delicious opportunity to take shots at me. Mmm. Ignorant, angry torch-wielding peasants chasing me about the landscape. It's just like the old days. As for my display, I've had several individuals donate the space above their land to me, so you might see one in every sim. Seriously. The final version will be done tonight but you can see a beta version here: http://www.sluniverse.com/pics/pic.aspx?id=97679And isn't that what it's all about? Actually creating content instead of squealing like pigs in a forum, you bastards. (Mmm, I love it.)

Ya know Foolish - I have never thought it was cunning, because nearly every move made has seemed comically transparent to me since day one. Trust me - I had my share of 'ZOMG How could you say that!' when bringing up what I saw happening... it's kinda nice when someone else sees something that has always been so blatantly obvious to me... Dude - you took the red pill - welcome to the real world.... there's no turning back.

I really enjoy the arguement "Even if I do/did something wrong, stupid, or sick, you are in the wrong if you call me on it cause it's mean." It's been getting pretty popular around these parts.

Not entirely true - the problems involving Prok stopped. Just like the problems involving Ulrika stopped when she 'never ever again would post on the forums'

I would like to publicly appologize to all members of SL. I honestly and truly made a mistake by submitting an entry into the Burning Life lottery twice as Ulrika Zugzwang and Uma Bauhaus. As soon as I was informed of my mistake, I immediately apologized and proactively sought a solution. During the course of the discussions with the Lindens, I posted updates, including their final decision in various threads. In short, because I entered the contest with two avatars, I will receive no land and will not be reentered in this year's lottery. The situation has been resolved at least technically. My importantly though, the question of my intent still remains. Did I unethically enter twice to increase my chance of winning or did I not realize that there was a one-entry per human rule and made a mistake? I strongly maintain it was the latter, however, I leave it up to you to decide. Here is some information for you to make up your mind: - It is common knowledge that Ulrika and Uma are the same.
- In the lottery thread, one can see that Ulrika and Uma submitted an entry one right after the other.
- When I submitted Ulrika and Uma, I was actually thinking to myself, that it is so nice that LL has done away with the policy of one-human one-entry, since they've opened up the forum to limitless unverified alts.
- In this post here, you can see me talk about signing up with alts as if I thought it were allowed.
In my case, only a single plot will be claimed, simply due to time constraints. However, since avatars are treated as individuals by LL, those RL humans who have multiple lots under different names will be allowed to build upon them if they have the time.
- In this post here, you can see where I realize I made a mistake and apologized.
Damn. I didn't see that and I apologize to all of you. I so love Burning Life and have the utmost respect for the artisans who participate.
I will absolutely be claiming only one parcel. As pennance, I will donate half of the only plot I plan claim to another member of the community who isn't selected in the next round, provided I personally like them.
- I then tried to keep people informed of the discussion in several places such as here:
For those who would like to know about the status of my mistaken double entry, Guy Linden and I have been in contact concerning the mistake. I've sent him an email with links to this thread to demonstrate that I had no malicious intent and have made the following proposals to him...
- I then finally posted the Linden verdict here.
The solution is that all my land has been returned and that I am disqualified from the remaining rounds of the lottery. It's tough love for someone who was up front with their mistake but understandable given the Linden policy of not allowing the appearance of favoritism.
I have always been completely honest with all of you since the beginning of this debacle. I truly made a mistake. More importantly though, is that I love this event and have a desire to contribute with a positive entry. I've made a display that is a tribute to the people of SL, showing various faces of those who I've had the pleasure of meeting in my many long years in this world. It will be seen as well, as many individuals who see that this was a mistake have offered me space above their lots, so I can have a stationary display. No wandering required.

coco Then again coco, another way of looking at it is if there wasn't any forums for Ulrika to post and be open about who her alts were, then would anyone have known this had happened? Do we know if this has happened also with less open residents?
