I was shocked to see no Huns this year.

It's not a Burning Life without a few hundred yards of shiny metal, crazy integrated video, and Mechagodzilla.

So last year I did a transport system using pushes... thinking to do something kindof similar this year - a ginormous chain of avatar throwers touring all 12 of the sims. But I'll need some kind people to donate a few prims on their plots (as few as one prim would help a lot, I don't think I'd need more than 10 on any plot anywhere). Send me an IM in world if you can help me out

Nuthin personal Uma, but doesn't entering for two parcels kinda take away from the creative diversity that Burning Life is celebrating? I'm glad you're only claiming one though. Maybe someone who's never gotten to participate will get it.

Damn. I didn't see that and I apologize to all of you. I so love Burning Life and have the utmost respect for the artisans who participate.

I will absolutely be claiming only one parcel. As pennance, I will donate half of the only plot I plan claim to another member of the community who isn't selected in the next round, provided I personally like them. (Sorry, you're out vivi.)

I eventually found them via the map called "Burning Life - sim name" rather than just the sim names as listed above.

There's not a lot going on yet though, I don't think many have claimed their plots.

All the sims are called "Burning Life (something)". Search on the map for "Burning" and they'll all show up.

I'm doing a futurist anime style build, but clean and shiny. think "Teh Future brought you you by Apple!" I like white shiny builds for futuristic

The secret is the name of the sims are the whole bit "Burning Life (Raudf)" or whatever. I was so dissappointed when I couldn't find my sim earlier, because I was only looking for "Raudf". I figured maybe the sims were not up yet or something, until a friend pointed out how the name worked.

I swear, whatever algorithm is used to choose stiffed me two years running. Ah, well, just like last year, I'll have to hit up those friends of mine who've gotten plots and see if they can spare a cuppa prims.

I found my plot... but I can't buy it because I'm unverified. A little quirk in the system methinks, because billing information isn't needed. But I've told Guy and they're working on it.

Now all I need is to figure out what to build. Does YadNi's sell inspiration in L$1 boxes?

I can understand why Ulrika would want to apply with all her alts just to give her the greatest chance of at least getting one. I just hope that all the other people that did the same thing (and there must be others) will be as ethical as she is and claim only one plot, and let the others they may have won go to the second round people.

Hopefully many of the entries will end up being team efforts. That way there will be as many people involved in the builds as possible.

I've never been to Burning Life (I'm too young), nor to the RL Burning Man, so I felt I didn't have enough clue about what to build to enter the lottery. But I'm really looking forward to seeing what all you folks create!!

If I remember correctly, there was a penis fountain last year. The Lindens made it go away.

Having wandered round and spoken to a few people there already started, I've found at least one "collaborative project" on adjacent plots.

I don't want to seem churlish, but the moral wrongdoing involved in applying using more than one alt, strictly against a clear request not to do this, is nothing to do with whether you get two plots. And is not corrected by giving one up, or even cutting yourself down to half a plot.

It is because it unfairly increases your chance of getting a plot at all.

If it is ok, why don't we all do it next year, "honorably" give up our accidental extra plots, and rejoice in the unfair advantage we gained in the lottery ? Those with the most alts get most of the plots - that's really fair.

I read the rules. The "no alts" request was very clear, and put us on our honor, knowing it could not be enforced. I submitted via one alt only. I could have unfairly quadrupled my chances, but I did not.

I'd like to have been able to trust that others would do the same.

Why is everyone here so reticent to speak out for what is right ?

I love Burning Life and I admit it, I'm a wanna be. While I don't think I have the talent to apply for a plot of my own, I do have skills I can offer to anyone that might need some help with theirs.

I am an accomplished builder, if you can describe it well enough, or better yet draw it, I can prob build it.

I can make pretty much any particle effect you might need.

I have basic scripting abilities and I'm pretty good at hacking freebie scripts to get them to do what I need. However I have two friends that are professional programmers in rl so if I can't do it I can ask them if they want to help out.

I can manipulate textures in PSP fairly well.

I can even track down sound file on the net for you, I don't mind the grunt work.

You don't even need to give me credit on the build, the glory doesn't matter to me I just want to contribute in some way if I can.
