There are several penises in Nani right now. They seem to be doing battle with spermatozoa. Seriously.

I started a thread in the textures forum on creating some burning life tshirts. I was hoping it could be another creative outlet for anyone who wasn't able to get a plot of land for this event or for people more inclined to making clothes than making structures.

Congrats to all winners. That is quite a list of people there it will be great to see the display and even put a pixeled face behind some of the names I see on the boards.

After making my opinion clear in another thread, I just found this post I quote above.

Cheats, gains twice whats expected, demands respect for offering to give back half the illegal gains, pontificates to the Lindens on their options in disciplining her, complains that they are not friendly when excluding her, and finally makes plans to entirely bypass their exclusion with a "wandering exhibit". Advises others on hiding their wrongdoing

And all with a superb and unperturbable sense of self-righteousness, using inapplicable words like "mistake", "misunderstanding" "honesty not rewarded", "intent", "not malicious" and calling the fair dispensation of justice "dogmatic".

And finally, as the killer touch, coming up with this "wandering exhibit" strategy to circumvent the punishment entirely.

If the task of life is to increase in self-understanding and respect for others, Uma, I fear you have a little way to go.

Struggle, Uma, to suppress that raging ego. Such a flagrant display doesn't help the rest of us in suppressing our own. Certainly I have slipped a bit here in responding too much, and I'll try hard to say no more.

I guess my sin here is in over-responding to flagrant arrogance in others, and thinking myself fit to comment upon it. I am simply pained to see such behaviour, or at least I think that's it. Hard to be absolutely certain though. There must be some element of ego in my motives, even if small.

We inhabit such a web of self-delusion don't we - all of us.

I'd better drop this. It's enough now. I'll just pray I don't encounter more posts like the one above, and weaken again.

I would like to publicly appologize to all members of SL. I honestly and truly made a mistake by submitting an entry into the Burning Life lottery twice as Ulrika Zugzwang and Uma Bauhaus. As soon as I was informed of my mistake, I immediately apologized and proactively sought a solution. During the course of the discussions with the Lindens, I posted updates, including their final decision in various threads. In short, because I entered the contest with two avatars, I will receive no land and will not be reentered in this year's lottery. The situation has been resolved at least technically.

My importantly though, the question of my intent still remains. Did I unethically enter twice to increase my chance of winning or did I not realize that there was a one-entry per human rule and made a mistake? I strongly maintain it was the latter, however, I leave it up to you to decide. Here is some information for you to make up your mind:

1. It is common knowledge that Ulrika and Uma are the same.
   
2. In the lottery thread, one can see that Ulrika and Uma submitted an entry one right after the other.
   
3. When I submitted Ulrika and Uma, I was actually thinking to myself, that it is so nice that LL has done away with the policy of one-human one-entry, since they've opened up the forum to limitless unverified alts.
   
4. In this post here, you can see me talk about signing up with alts as if I thought it were allowed.
   
   In my case, only a single plot will be claimed, simply due to time constraints. However, since avatars are treated as individuals by LL, those RL humans who have multiple lots under different names will be allowed to build upon them if they have the time.
   
   
5. In this post here, you can see where I realize I made a mistake and apologized.
   
   Damn. I didn't see that and I apologize to all of you. I so love Burning Life and have the utmost respect for the artisans who participate.
   
   I will absolutely be claiming only one parcel. As pennance, I will donate half of the only plot I plan claim to another member of the community who isn't selected in the next round, provided I personally like them.

   For those who would like to know about the status of my mistaken double entry, Guy Linden and I have been in contact concerning the mistake. I've sent him an email with links to this thread to demonstrate that I had no malicious intent and have made the following proposals to him...
   
   
7. I then finally posted the Linden verdict here.
   
   The solution is that all my land has been returned and that I am disqualified from the remaining rounds of the lottery. It's tough love for someone who was up front with their mistake but understandable given the Linden policy of not allowing the appearance of favoritism.

I have always been completely honest with all of you since the beginning of this debacle. I truly made a mistake.

More importantly though, is that I love this event and have a desire to contribute with a positive entry. I've made a display that is a tribute to the people of SL, showing various faces of those who I've had the pleasure of meeting in my many long years in this world. It will be seen as well, as many individuals who see that this was a mistake have offered me space above their lots, so I can have a stationary display. No wandering required.

I think it's really simple really, just do the right thing and if you won two or more plots of land with your other accounts (which is really unfair on the rest of us, but hey, you where keen , right?), simply don't claim the land with your other AV's. That way you will allow a broader spectrum of plot owners, and not sit greedily running around between your plots.. I have many of my own friends who would be interested in contributing, if anyone is selfishly keeping three plots to themselves then I'm sorry but that's a bit unfair on everyone else who are keen to give a single plot its worth.

A collaborate build with you and Lauk? Damn, count me in. I've always wanted to work with some of the legends.

Why should honesty be rewarded? Ethical behaviour is its own reward.

Good for you, Uma, for being honest and stepping up to return the plots. I won't comment on your discouragement to others to be as honest as you were and do the same.

While many penises have appeared in Burning Life they aren't the original 70m "Water of Life" fountain of last year. I know 'cause it was my build. I thought about doing it again, but it's one of those things ya'know, been there, done that. Instead I have a very non contraveral adobe build (Linden Bear Museum) right across from the Burning Man. Though, I will place a miniture of center piece from last years build on a shelf, your welcome to take one.
I am very sad that the Forums are closing. I believe the dust up in the fourms last year is what kept the build from being pulled and keep Buring life true to it's spirit.
