Rant: Grim Babies!

Recently I was reading a site that I normally visit called http://pixelpinuponline.com ... I had stumbled onto an article called "Grim Babies". (http://pixelpinuponline.com/goodies/grim-babies)
I have to be open and honest to say this is the most disturbing, sick and twisted thing I have heard of. I am not one of those people who are into the "Pixelated Babies" in game but that still would not drive me to purchase one of these. I think the biggest surprise for me had to be that top named designers are behind this product. The babies themselves are well made and quite interesting to look at but the idea behind them is to slap,kick and eventually kill the babies by abusing them.
They do have a "Note" in their box that says something to this - Abusing Grim Babies are fun, Abusing real babies is not. If this is a disclaimer, that is sad. This product was also being sold in a popular child place called "Inner Child" where RP kids purchase most of their items. I have seen some weird and unusual things in my second life but this product is just plain discgraceful. Beating up children/babies in SL or RL...the topic itself should not taken lightly and especially it shouldn't be looked at as a joke!

This is what replies the site had:
"Well…. one girl went and got like 5 babies, and wore them allover her body (yes Willow even her feet), another one killed her babie instantly and said whew I feel better, and left, someone pretended to give birth and a midget threw plecenta alover, then she went afk, shot herself in the head and smashed the babie. Crazy people I tell you!"

The babies are OMG so much fun!! At first I was like OMG people are going to be picketing *_____, but then I thought hey picketers could be fun!! So I get to have Grim Babies at *_____and see them all day, and the crazy things people are doing with them but sadly no protestors

* I left it blank so their would be no talk of naming stores that are involved. They don't deserve the traffic *

I now have a list of places me and my friends will not be buying at.

Garbage Pail Kids has nothing to do with the idea of parents abusing children.

I have too seen these items in game and sadly have to agree. I know SL is a place where people can have all of their wierd and twisted dreams come true..but I think "abuse" to that level is just wrong. Yes, the kids are cute, and Yes are like Garbage Pail Kids. But I don't think shaking a child to death is appropriate. Or kicking it, or letting some stranger kick it. They have gone to say "Grim Babies are for those who do not want SL kids." All of these things are people's choices in game, but Katie and other's who do not like these items have a right to say why. For those in game, who do live it out being married or having SL kids, seeing an "anti-child" that's purpose is to be killed makes your stomach turn. There are plenty of sick and disgusting things in game..but honestly this takes it a step to far.

I can't decide whether this thread is advertising or real.

I am in no position to judge this as a person who, sick of playing the Sims, tried every conceivable way to kill the incredibly annoying, endlessly screaming Sim babies without success. Which I found infuriating, lol.

Hate=Advertisement.... well gee, there's a new concept. I'm glad that people can't have a single thought anymore without being accused of something else. If you want one, that's your choice, but I along with Katie I believe have the right to say something when it's not liked on this level. If you love it..then start a rave post, but don't accuse the disgust and horrid dislike for an item as advertisment.

Nobody else had a pirate baby, and I have dreamed of a pirate baby. Pete and I are very happy, now I will have to contact his father for prim support, if only he would stop killing Pete!

Hello everyone,

I am sorry to say that the creator of grim babies, did have a booth at Inner Child, for a few days. It was brought to my attention and immediately removed. I would like you all to know that Inner Child does not condone abuse and killing babies, prim or not.

I personally am a child abuse survivor, and would never want to hear of that happening to any of our SL children.

Inner Child is a safe place for SL children and will continue to be. I implore all SL childrens stores to keep a look out for these grim babies, as they are the most discusting things i have ever seen in SL.

It saddens my heart to know that they were at Inner Child at all. I cant believe ppl would make things like that.

Please know that Inner Child and i know most SL childrens areas and stores do not condone that type of behavior.

Sure it's a bit demented, but it's far from the worst thing in the world. And yes there is some fun and humor in it especially if you're not fond of prim babies. It's too bad you can't see that, but that's ok, not everyone's the same.

Ever since I did all that killing of pixelated Robotic Hitler's in the computer "game" Wolfenstein, RL Robotic Hitler's have been complaining it will lead to me killing them or at least thinking of them in very bad ways.

Seriously though, if they ever start having prim kittens being beaten then I will be furious.

They are killing furry babies? That is different.

I find the idea that people are "playing" necorphilia in SL disturbing, too, so I don't look for it.... or buy "dead" avatars to have my way with or whatever the hell they do. (note: I've only heard of this, never seen it, nor do I want to, heh.)

They are pixels, and nothing more. People do a lot of sick shit with pixels, but as long as it doesn't involve real human beings, that is their problem.

Now, if they start in on prim kittens, I agree, that is going too far. We have to draw the line somewhere, people!

Now i know another thing to avoid...i myself will avoid shopping anywhere that carries them.
