Hi all,

Not quite finished with our place but here's some pics anyway.
(Background: It's a scale reproduction of our RL home, which was designed by a Mid-century modernist architect named Gregory Ain in 1948. My only trouble is that im almost hitting my prim limit, so I'm trying to maximise everything I can. ;)

Here's a day & night pic, I will try to post some new interior pics soon too.

Wow, REALLY good. I HATE YOU. :D

I'm a big fan of mid century modern stuff. Eichler has been the inspiration for a few houses I've made... I really need to see your place. Can you post the location?

Here's one I made recently:

looks nice Ingrid! I definitely see the Eichler influence, very cool...
Where is it?

My place is at Shamrock 115,176

everyone is posting their houses but....
11-10-2005 08:44
I don't have a house or land..soo here's a couple pics of my apartment after I finished decorating. Apartments are hard to make look like home since they're usually colorless boxes without mod perms soooo...I use a few prims to put up wallpaper flooring etc and this is the result......

hammock, Curtains, screen, art work, table by the hammock & fountain by Relic.

I made the chair, the table between them, the stonebench

Plants are from home depoz

Hot Tub by Siggy Romulus

Fireplace is a freebie I got somewhere called Sia Fireplace
Don't mean to necessarily plug anyone's stuff but ..... credit where credit it due.

if this is out of place... i'm sorry.. jsut say so and i'll remove it.

Just moved to a lovely 1536 in Griffin, so thought I would post some pics of my latest house. Everything except the doors(which were bought) and the foliage (Linden) was done by me. From the outside it looks like solid stone with murals on 3 sides, but from the inside I get lovely views of the world around me.
My favourite room is the crypt, which is atmospheric, plus gives me a lovely view out over my pool.

Some dynamite houses. It's really amazing to see the variety of tastes people show when they start to put down some roots.

Octal, that first picture of your house is the only time in my Second Life I've ever had to look twice at a scene to figure out which world it belonged in :p I guess it was because I grew up around some houses which showed a bit of that style. Really something.

Well thanks Judah, thats very kind.
Since it is modeled after a true house that may explain why it has that realistic effect, but Ive tried to throw in a few creative elements of my own (subtly of course :)) and plus it in ways I probably never could in RL.
I'll UL some new pics soon...and you can always visit @ Shamrock 115,176

it's just a prefab i bought on slexhange.com, but it suits me. there is a sliding door on each floor that locks., teleports instead of stairs to save on prims, and the windows have three levels of tint. next step is to furnish it and add another door on the left side of the little bridge.. after that, off to the sandbox to start working on my own creation!

also, this is built on my First Land property.

Here is my current project in progress. An insane asylum. This is modeled after the Buffalo State Hospital in NY. I've included the reference picture. I hope it looks that good when it's done.

Ooo, Kirkbride building. I thought about doing one of those, probably based on Worchester (mostly because I love the clock tower), but I don't have the land for it right now (not in its full form, anyway).

Instead I'm doing a victorian/steampunk tower with backwards-running clock and integrated Babbage Engine. More of a landmark than a house, really. It's at Acontia (80,80).

My houses

My first house - I was extremely proud of this build - I did it all by myself :)

My second house - built by Dook Buckenburger, inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, textured by yours truly :)

so the prefab i bought had just a few too many prims, so i built something myself, and still only cut about a dozen prims off the land. oh well. it's mostly a place to try on new clothes and such in privacy. hope you like it.

there are 2 shots with the windows set to fe fully open, and the third with them closed. the double doors slide open and can be locked.

A few more pics

The first two photos are of my current house - Shona LX
The last photo was of the previous model - Shona
The last photo is of the Shona LP, a Low Prim model that I designed for first land, only 27 prims in basic house (pool deck not included).

All are available as prefabs.
