MJ n Dek's Snowy Home!
11-05-2004 10:04
Here is mine and Dek's Home in Meito (98, 83). I built the house in one full day. I did not build most of the furniture inside, I went shopping for that, but some stuff I did build. The pictures don't do it justice so feel free to go take a look. I'm very proud of this home.

Huggerz,
MJ

So I bit the bullet, deleted my old house, and built a new one.

It's an almost exact copy of the house I lived in in RL from November 2000 until three weeks ago. Having it here on SL makes me feel like I still live there :)

The Living Room with two patio doors and staircase.

The Library

The fireplace in the family room - need to add a french door in the corner

The master bedroom, looking through to master bathroom

The front door entrance, with courtyard

The side patio looking back into the living room

Rear view showing patio doors to family room and master bedroom

I have yet to finish/furnish the kitchen, master bath, laundry room, guest bath and the three rooms upstairs. It's a little cramped for SL camera angles, and the exterior doesn't really fit well in a snow sim, but I love it - it's home!

Wow, all of these homes are great. I like the variety of "real" builds to the fantastic.

Here is a short video (2.4mb, wmv) of our home, built by my partner, Kim Manilow:

Okay, I've recently moved to Mallard (179, 53) and started a whole new build. Going for the classical ruins look. Here's a peek at Mephit Meadow! :D

Thought I'd post an update to my home, since it's closer to being finished. I've pretty much completed the exterior and added a moat/waterfall feature to it.

Here's my humble little home!

I always wanted a romantic place like this, but a fixer-upper is all I could afford! (^_^);;

I was pretty much inspired by I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith, which is a good movie and a fantastic book She also wrote the original One Hundred and One Dalmatians!

You can see a whole bunch of pics of home on my album at Flickr!

I moved into an abandoned church in Oberstdorf. I should've known from the odd railings that it was evil...

I chased out the squaters who had set a mattress on fire. Also the cross must have been blown down during a storm. It smashed through the roof and is in one of the rooms upstairs...

I pushed the pews against the walls to unclutter the place, but I still need to repaint and clean the grafitti off of the bricks...
