As a service to the general forum-going public, here is how to killfile posts made by anyone you want, browser-side. - First, you need Firefox.
- Second you need to install the Remove It Permanently extension.
- Finally, you need to add the following to the RIP options:
Name: "Die die die" or whatever you want URL: http://forums.secondlife.com/showthread* XPATH Queries (one for each user to hide): //div[a=USER NAME HERE]/../../../..
You could probably do something similar with Greasemonkey, but I got this working first. There are some things that could be done to expand on it, like hide particular threads started by those posters, posts that quote those posters, or (the one I'm most interested in) hide subforums you don't care about. Feel free to post here if you come up with the proper settings for that stuff. If you are curious, I tried to add several residents to the vBulletin ignore list awhile back, and vBulletin obstructed me each time. Since it happened several times in a row, and the posters have continued to beg to be ignored ever since, I finally got annoyed enough that I was going to regain control over my forum-going experience come hell or high water. It went beyond the posters and became a matter of principle! An epic, life or death struggle for supremacy! Noneuclidean Love Polygon versus Braindead Forum Software, mano y mouseo...

If only the ResMods all had a particular text string we could lock onto with this. Nice catch, though, thanks for the info.

From: Dyne Talamasca ... hide subforums you don't care about. ... This would be great! Imagine the forums without all that chicken little crap about "the economy," and "the value of the Linden" cluttering things up.
