remember that most people in clubs are working just for tips even the djs at some clubs which is really a shame i am not sure why a club owner would think that they should not pay something to employees that provide a service and why people come and listen and request songs out the ass and you dont see a dime. lol pay what you feel remembering that the tip you give they usually are not getting it all in fact some will go to the club and they are often standing there for nothing and entaining you. club business has really gone to hell and cost most owners to provide this for you so also tip the house is a good idea most of us have a box or board of some kind

Clubs live or die on the largesse of the owner, the largesse of its patrons, or through other businesses that actually earn something. There is no cover charge. And the people that work there expect to be paid, but do not contribute toward the cost for land, advertising, etc. Having a full staff usually requires some income, and without a viable income stream, you cannot expect most clubs to stick around. Clubs come and go, as staff decide to leave and open their own.... and then they learn the same lesson the hard way. _____________________

I have a friend that DJ's and a few friends that host. I am also about to start hosting myself. For those who are not aware....there are a ton of clubs that do not pay for the services. The only pay that my friends get when they work there is tips. It is a great job for someone who is learning. But many clubs do not pay their DJ's or Hosts. And I know a few that keep a manager on duty as well. So you then have 4 tipjars sitting out and it gets expensive. Some people will only tip 10L and others do not tip at all because they don't want to leave anyone out. So instead of making a few hundred linden in tips you are lucky if you make 100L.
What is truly fair? If you don't know the circumstances behind it then tipping whatever you can to whomever you can is what seems fair to me. |

As an ex (hell.................sometimes current) dancer I can vouch for some of this. I've seen dancers work their butts off for 100 lindens and be so thankful for it. Personally, I guess I never worked that hard.........my motive for being there was not the lindens. I was (am, when I dance) there for the fun of it........just like the "patrons". Sometimes the "mood" of the crowd doesn't make it easy to chat it up but I always try. I seldom cyber (even when encouraged) but love talking and acting sexily silly. Most people who freguent the clubs I have worked at like that...........I'm pretty popular. But, do I make a lot of lindens? No. Do I have a lot of fun? Yes...........most of the time. And I've never been one of those "zombies" ![]() So, as far as I'm concerned, tip what you want and how much you want and feel no guilt what so ever. By the same token, tip a ton........remember, with me, you didn't get any privelages for some huge tip. I think most "seasoned" dancers are just like me. Quoting this for prosperity. I formerly worked as a dancer, and was one of the ones that actually socialized with everybody, and in some cases was working to creatively rp with my customers. Two hours of that, a few times a week while trying to stay original is some work. I dislike the dancers that use gestures or the polezombies. That being said I no longer am a dancer, way too much work and your act is completely killed if there are no customers. I picked up DJing. That usually brings me 600-2k lindens depending on the time of night. I take any and all requests regardless of tips. If theres a song you like to hear I'll find some way to get it. Tipwise I've noticed has a tier value to it. The highest tipped person is usually the DJ, followed by the Host, trailing them are the dancers and security. A fair amount in my eyes is 50-100l to a DJ, the same to a host, and 20-50 to a dancer, unless they are exceptionally helpful. That's a bare minimum. Again it all depends on if that person is geniunely accomodating to you. A tip is a tip in my eyes, its extra linden in the bank, zero tips at all make me unhappy. _____________________
