I think that we should not limit activities on Second Life. It is in the terms to play that you must be at least 18 or older, so everyone on SL is of or above the age of consent. Therefore, any activity going on is by 18 or older consenting adults. If you ban one activity thought to be offensive, you will have to ban them all. The only thing I see as a possible canidate for banning is real life portrayals of underage people in a sexual manner. those are illegal anyway, in RL. Other than that, even if it is not my way of life, I support those who would like to participate in any activity they wish on SL. They are adults. It is thier life. Let them live how they want and keep your persoanl moral stuffy attitudes to yourself and your own sim. If you don't like it, no one is forcing you to enter those areas in which so called 'offensive' acts are taking place. The searches show descriptions of places, read them before you teleport. It is your responsibility to stay out of these sims, not thiers to keep you out; just as it is your resposibility to not look in porn magazine or movies if you don't like that material, or to stay out strip joints. This is your personal life choice, not others. We all see the world differently. We all have our own lives that we are responsible for. it is not our job to regulate how other consenting adults choose to live thier own lives. -Leoki

From: Astarte Artaud Well it is nice to see the Police blotter being updated with actions taken. How many abuse reports do they receive each and every day (accrding to Daniel Linden if I remember correctly he was talking of 5000). Well yesterday how many acted on 6.
And any check of the blotter shows that greifing is covered, (presumably several people report that each time). account abuse, ocassional harrasment and anything affecting a Lindens Sandbox.
Everything else is discarded.....so why the suggestion always being made....use the abuse report system..... There is no effective report system. Not everything makes it on to the police blotter. One case I was familiar with, the guy drew a 16-day suspension, and then was banned from SL altogether, and no hint of it ever appeared on the blotter.

From: Nina Stepford it is upon us i believe. how do you take this?
"Please help us to keep Second Life a safe and welcoming space by continuing to notify Linden Lab about locations in-world that are violating our Community Standards regarding broadly offensive and potentially illegal content. Our team monitors such notification 24-hours a day, seven-days a week. Individuals and groups promoting or providing such content and activities will be swiftly met with a variety of sanctions, including termination of accounts, closure of groups, removal of content, and loss of land." Oh no! Not the "broadly offensive" game again! I've just built a lighthouse and someone is bound to see that as a phallic symbol and find it broadly offensive! I shall be on the black list for sure :-/

I shall be on the black list for sure :-/ It depends on whether the height/width ratio qualifies for "phallic symbolism law 453 paragraph 7786b" I guess! Does it....glow?
