But damn, why did this ever have to happen? Was there NO solution that would have allowed everyone's businesses to stay put where they were on the Mainland?

Just the new search ratings could of done it, eh.

Plenty of solutions and they were put forward to LL early on. LL had decided on a solution by the time they informed the masses though and were not about to admit the solution was not optimal.

Anyway, I was so worn down with the waiting, it was a huge relax when I got it. I hope you get good timing and grab a top spot.

I won't. I can't access new sims for at least a week or two after they come online and that's if I am lucky. Sometimes it takes me a month. It's an old issue and I can reproduce it on my accounts (alts) on various machines and locations.

There were several solutions offered up that would not only have avoided the problems for mainland, they'd have done the same for estates too but Linden Lab steadfastly refused to listen to their customers yet again.

Have you IMed a Linden on the swap team and explained this? I IMed one, she didn't get to me any faster but she did listen and went out of her way to help with certain things I needed.

I did just as I saw that last reply by LL today. I mean literally I didn't even see my request till last night so. :(

Also I shouldn't have to explain cause this is a known issue. It has to do with adding sims to the grid to fast and the locations of asset servers. Back during the First Land era it was a common complaint as some people couldn't access the sims till they were bought up.

The unstated goal of this whole project, IMO anyway, was to make it look like they were doing everything they could to 'keep kids safe', regardless of it it actually accomplishing anything good.

That Aristotle doesn't work - both in that it won't let people verify with legit info and will let people verify with bogus (bogus for them anyway) info - doesn't matter.

That you can get payment info with a prepaid credit card - one that has no links back to your RL identitiy - doesn't matter.

What matters is that nobody can say that LL didn't do at least as much as any other online service now.

Not saying that they did a good job of managing this whole thing but if you take the perspective that they *had to* do something, even if there was no actual RL pressure (and there was pressure, even though it was from idiots), it actually could have been a lot worse.

Live help helped me out as well, they let me know I was approved while my ticket was new.

Mae: Hello Gummo_Zaks! I am usually helping multiple people, but I will help you as soon as possible. Please begin by stating the issue, so I can begin helping as soon I can. If you already have a support ticket for this issue, please provide the number so I can take a look.

Gummo_Zaks: Hello I really hate to be a bother but is there any way I could get someone from the Zindra migration team to take a look at my appeal for ticket 4051-6484679 while I'm online? I know it's only been 4 days since I re-opened the ticket but it would be helpfull.
Mae: Hi Gummo. Unfortunately, these decisions are being handeled by our Governance team and I would not be able to give you an answer to the question you posed when reopening your ticket.
Gummo_Zaks: Alright thank you...thought I would give it a shot by asking.

Edit: And I tried IMing Amber Linden, but doubt I will hear anything....I'm sure those people are tired of all the rukus

Yes, my question was rhetorical, since obviously this whole thing is insane.

As I've stated before, I've never seen a company who has less regard for its customers than LL. Thanks to having zero tier and my L$500 stipend, LL is now paying me to play, otherwise I'd cancel my account. I will never pay them another cent. I hope everyone who is still paying them sizable chunks of their hard-earned cash considers withdrawing their financial support. Why reward a company that has shown time and time again they are incompetent and all they care about is the money they take from you? I just wish there was decent competition so they couldn't get away with this shit.

At the very least, think long and hard before investing your time and money in a platform where the rules can change at any time without warning.

My alt: It'd be good to get it sorted now if I could. I need to hang to explain a few things, is there anyway you could get my ticket up?
Help: I can get your ticket up yes. But I'm afraid that we're not the people actually doing the moves.
Help: If you explain everything you can on the ticket, they'll read all that before they proceed with their actions.
My alt: I've seen people get rejected because of simple mistakes and have to waut another week, I really want to be here and make sure nothing is missed etc.
Help: I'm afraid that I can't actually do anythign with your ticket.
My alt: ok, I understand, you can't even ask that team for me?
Help: Everything does look good though. Items have been verified so once they get to the ticket they should have no problems with the migration.
My alt: You mean I've got the ok?
Help: Yeah, you've been approved for the transfer.

Amber was the one I IMed too, she said she was really busy, but she was really decent to me too.

I'm already looking into ways to screw LL over with paying them. I hear a couple of land barons offer cheap land tier donations. Ten dollars less to LL a month into thier pocket might not seem like much but it adds up to them...and me.

"It could have been a lot worse" is a crappy level of customer satisfaction on which to build your business.

That LL seems to be settling for that is a big indicator of the management skills and business savvy of the folks in charge of the sandbox.

That *we* as customers are consoling ourselves with "It could have been worse" indicates just how little trust we have in LL's desire to keep us as customers, and to provide good customer service.

That should tell LL something. Imagine how cool we could make this place if we were *enthused*? :)

It could have been worse. You could have had to pay land barons for your Zindra land.

Oh, wait, that's what almost everyone who needs adult land will end up having to do.

I guess it IS worse. :(

I was under the impression the "customers" LL wanted to satisfy were Meta's Millions.

Even WORSE be in the situation of both.. which is where I am.. I moved a very small portion of my total land holdings (so went through that whole mess) I only chose to move a small portion for two reasons. 1. only a small portion is actually used for "adult commercialized" purposes... and I am a stickler for following the rules. 2. I truely love the parcels I have put together.

So, now I have to decide whether to just use my SL like I have been living on my parcels.. or how much I should worry about the AR hammer. I hope adult land available from estates will help keep the speculation down some. It is a small glimmer of hope.

Once again land barons get portrayed as the villains.

They are opportunists. Anyone who bids and wins Zindra plots in auction can flip them. You don't have to be a land baron to speculate in this way. You just need tier, the money to invest and the balls to do it in this unstable market.

In my opinion you should keep your current parcels. Here's why:

1) The AR thing is fear mongering.
2) You won't be rewarding LL's greed or feeding into the false frenzy by overpaying for additional Zindra land.
3) You can reroute traffic to your new adult plot from your current land, hopefully keeping you from losing too many customers.

At the very least, wait until the storm blows over and don't invest anything more at this time.

Typecasting.

Perhaps LL should do a closed auction for all parcel owners in Zindra that have their parcel built with adult content by August 10th. This would encourage people to move forward and get their business going again - and these folks would have the opportunity to get the land they need for their prims without being raked over the reseller coals.

They're no more villains than the storm or the earthquake. It's the people who created the situation that are the villains.
