I imagine, in looking at a few of the young fabulous bodies, that a few are looking to go pro. Apparently though, pole dancing is becoming a nationwide craze for exercise. I was, naturally, the oldest one there -- most were probably in the twenties with maybe a couple in their early thirties. Though, once I get past the beginner classes I am told there are more women in the 40s and 50s doing it for exercise.

We start out with yoga type warm-up and stretches. Then, tonight we learned how to walk/prance/strut around the pole and how to do 3 different spins on it. Being out of shape and then trying to swing yourself around a pole is not the easiest thing in the world. Add in my asthma & emphysema and I ended up with a pretty good cardio workout in an hour.

It was fun though. We will probably go to classes 1-2 a week. You cannot go past 'beginner 101' until the instructor says you are ready -- so you do not get hurt. They also offer classes in lap dancing. :o

Webcam please

Neat, Lil! I wonder sometimes if our experiences in SL help us be more adventurous in RL - I knew poledancing classes have been springing up, but I didn't know anyone who had tried it!

And, I commend the thread for not posting links to any of the 5 billion videos showing poledancers faceplanting. Be careful, Lil!

/me eyes the red sequined twopiece outfit from many Halloweens ago in her RL closet and thinks maybe she should send it to Lil!

BAD reaction to food from the hospital cafeteria!!! :(

/me is not a happy camper today. :(

Morning all. I found a pretty funny SL blog last night http://beerswithmikaliskaras.blogspot.com

boxtard
verb |bäkstärd| [ trans. ]
the act of typing dialogue in the wrong box or chat window either from local to instant message, vice versa, or from instant message to instant message : Did you boxtard that last line?

One of the best ways to avoid boxtarding is to close down chat tabs until your friend replies. Also don't engage in IM's when you're having a special moment with that special someone
If I had a L$ for every time I've embarrassed myself like this.. Nice to know it has a name. I guess.

blech. I don't think I'll ever even want to try grits, never mind actually liking them.
Nice bit of knitting there :)

...
Grits are fine with lots of butter and sugar. Think semolina pudding.

Oh no, I just googled Haiti News.
From: someone
A powerful 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck near the capital of Haiti Tuesday afternoon, crippling the poor island nation and knocking out most of its communication with the outside world.

Yeah, it's the poorest nation in the western hemisphere and this is the last thing that they need. Canada has had long history of providing international aid there and we have quite a few Canadians of Haitian descent here including our Governor General who came here as a Haitian refugee. I hope we send our DART teams http://www.cefcom-comfec.forces.gc.ca/pa-ap/nr-sp/doc-eng.asp?id=301

Grits are best with butter, cheddar cheese, and bacon crumbled up in them.

Hope you feel better soon Mo :(

I'm stressing myself out trying to figure out what to write for my study exchange application. I probably shouldn't get so fussy - its giving me a headache lol. I should prolly head to bed.

I have to be honest and admit my geography knowledge is the pits, so other than the mention in Clueless I had no idea where Haiti was :(
From what I've read so far, at least they'll be getting some help as soon as it is possible, so thats a good thing.
I'll be keeping them in my prayers...

I have that on potatoes lol.

I'll prolly end up trying them one day, I just can't see the appeal from the pictures and descriptions. Which probably goes for a lot of the stuff I actually love too lol.

They usually want to hear stuff like what a great opportunity this is for you to learn about other countries/cultures, you love to meet new people/try new things/travel/study other languages, you want to broaden your world view, that sort of thing.

Mmmmm, now I realize I have baked potatoes in the fridge just waiting to be loaded with unhealthy stuff...

I tried grits recently, they taste very much like any other bland porridge. You have to put something in them to make them tasty, whether it be savory or sweet (or both).
