Who is this Coraline?? Geez...it reminds me of the times that threads started by Jig made up half of the front page

I think she is hilarious. :D

I'm working on a video for "Cause I'm A Blonde." I wonder if I should invite her for a cameo.

Am I the last one to know that ETD moved a TON of hairstyles over to the discount section? I just doubled my hair inventory...
I did NOT know that --- I did not NEED to know that.

/me grumbles as she loads up the L$ and heads over to ETD.

(thanks)

The color pack contains 6 different colors, in 3 variations each (regular, blackened, burnt), so 18 total per pack (at least for the Reds, I assume the same for other color packs). Out of that, I keep ONE and only ONE. That is the reason I love the sales and the discount walls. The only times I've ever kept more than one color is in some specialty hairs that will go with certain costumes or specialized looks.

So for those of you who will be celebrating Thanksgiving this week...what goodies are "must haves" at your gathering?

For me:

Turkey
stuffing / dressing
mashed potatoes
cranberry sauce (which I make, tyvm; none of that canned stuff on Turkey Day)
Two types of pie: pumpkin and mincemeat
For me:
Vegetarian stuffing
tofurkey
mashed potatoes
cranberry sauce - the whole cranberry kind not jellied
peas
some kind of salad (no jello)
pecan pie, vegetarian mincemeat pie, and/or pumpkin pie
maybe yams and or string bean casserole

From: Joshooah Lovenkraft
I wanna try it so bad!! I've just seen too many deep fryer accidents with dumb people putting in a half frozen turkey or too much oil and setting their house on fire that it freaks me out a bit lol.

I shall be celebrating Thanksgiving by having one day off from work, generously paid for by my employer. Whereupon I shall return to work on Friday. On my day off I shall spend my time alone contemplating which McDonald's or like might be open so I might partake of food. I will then, likely, end up not eating food and/or attempting to beg some food from a local asian establishment, Chinese or Thai.
From: Brenda Connolly
I have been spending most Thanksgivings in Las Vegas the past 6 years or so, but since I wll be traveling for half of December through New Year's, Vegas will have to get along without me this year. If I were to cook, it would be turkey, sausage and apple stuffing stuffing, garlic mashed potatoes, green beans with garlic and black olives sauteed in olive oil, and apple pie. However, I've decided on a solitary Thanksgiving this year and will be dining out at a local eatery.
I've spent a few holidays like that. And quite a few with other people's families. And quite a few with my own. I've pretty much enjoyed them all.
For a few years we were going to our sister-in-laws parents and always had a great time. But her step-dad died suddenly this year so that's sad. He was a really great guy.

This year we're going to the home of the guitar player in the band my husband plays with. We've been promised something vegetarian to eat which could mean anything but who cares; there will be nice people and lots of good live music.

I hope you both enjoy the day Lexxi and Brenda and do exactly what you want to do.

From: Eli Schlegal
Honestly Treasure... I'm just useless in the kitchen. I'd prolly just be in the way. :p
Lame, Eli, lame.

Hey Brenda!

I ate a Dove chocolate the other day, and my fortune read: "To all my friends - you are my strength. Thank you for your love." and it was signed "Brenda - Roseland, NJ." and I thought - hey, I know a Brenda in New Jersey! I wonder if this is her?...
*Swoon* Dove chocolate - my very favorite kind. And cool fortune too.

From: Oryx Tempel
It's actually one of those individually wrapped milk chocolates - about 2 bites. Yummm. The inside of the foil wrapper has a fortune printed on it.
"Dove Promises." They are so good I even like the dark chocolate ones - not as much as the milk chocolate though.

Thanks Tex. And now welcome back to you.

One of the greatest things about sharing the holidays with this particular friend, is that her husband is obsessed with cleaning the kitchen... He cleans up for me too, when they come for a dinner party...
I had a friend like that when I lived in England. In fact he compulsively cleaned the whole house whenever he came over. He was a very cool guy in many other ways too. I'd love to get together with him again sometime.

Ok, I know they are different companies, but . . . am I the only person who associates the brand name "Dove" with soap? And finds the idea of eating Dove chocolate a little . . . icky, for that reason?

WOW! you have really changed. i like the NOW you much better. You are adorable.

btw, how is your friend? any new updates to report?

You are so sweet and thanks for asking about my friend! I am grateful for the family liason that keeps me informed.

She was moved to a nursing home for now, awaiting the day she can put weight on her legs and return to the physical therapy center. I am a bit ashamed that I still have not called her but I feel like she needs a little more time to heal before I give her my blast from the past. It has been almost twenty years since we last spoke.

Her mother's wake is coming soon so I think I will go to that and go forward from there. I remember how much a surprise visit from old friends really touched my heart when they attended my ma's wake. I will PM you with the heartfelt reunion story if nothing else...

Hugs to all. I have so much to be grateful for during this Thanksgiving holiday. Please know how much I appreciate how kind all of you threadies are to me when I do post.

*AFTER* you help with the clean up of course, cause, you are a sensitive guy like that, right? Not one of those eat and crash types, leaving the cleanup for the wimmen folks. :p
I take the plug off the vacuum cleaner on such occasions as otherwise the stupid woman starts cleaning the carpets in front of the TV.

This is just plain crazy:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turducken

"... the name is a portmanteau of turkey, duck, and chicken—is a dish consisting of a partially de-boned turkey stuffed with a de-boned duck, which itself is stuffed with a small de-boned chicken."

Which you have probably covered with crumbs that need to be vacuumed up in a timely manner, before you then walk in them and smoosh them into the carpet, which will then have to be shampooed. If you did that to me, you'd pay, somehow. I don't know what would take 'you' there. In my case, I could drop the tv remote in my purse and take it to work with me. My retired husband would be oh so remorseful, for removing the vacuum plug, by the time I got home and provided his beloved remote.

That's one of the reasons I had kids - my son sits close to the TV and, at my command, manually changes channel, volume, subtitles . . .

Pep (well, there must have been some rationale and I am getting very little other payback on the ridiculous upfront investment.)

PS Crumbs on the carpet? Don't be ridiculous! *I* am the only one allowed to eat or drink in that room and I make sure no calory or alcohol is wasted.

In fact, it's not unusual for the women to look around wondering where the men have gotten to after the meal, and find two or three of them in the kitchen doing dishes! :D

ETA: Oh, look at my post count! Do you think I'll get to 1,000 before the thread gets to 100,000? :p

I wish I knew somebody obsessed with cleaning up the kitchen, that's an awesome obsession. I only have the one big family gathering at my house yearly, our soul food day, which this year is day after Christmas. We go to my brother in law's for Thanksgiving. He just broke his knee, he'll be a big help for his wife, for Thanksgiving, eh. I don't mind helping to clean up somebody else's kitchen though, really.

LMAO a living, breathing remote. I love it. However, am not willing to give birth to provide that little trinket. Last nite, I was talking with a very straight-laced friend in SL, no kink at all there. I was being very professional, wearing my Virtual Ability tag (/me adjusts halo) when suddenly my rl son tp'd in, in full neko glory. I sighed, and introduced him, can't deny him, eh. The person I was talking to said 'you gave birth to a neko?'. Maybe he missed the 'rl' part, not sure, but he obviously didn't get that THIS IS SL......Had to laugh, and guess I did but ain't giving birth to anyone else, that was it.

Turduckens are awesome. I'm planning on having one of those for Christmas this year. I'm fond of the cajun version that has some crawfish tails stuffed in there as well.
