My neighbors had a trampoline in their back yard. Playing crack the egg is one of my fondest memories.
After it resembled the trampoline below two or three times all the back flips and head butts were over with. _____________________

YIKES! Um...tornado? We lived at the west base of the sierra mountains. Sixty mph winds are a common occurrence. _____________________

The true story of Thanksgiving.
"After the poor harvest of 1622, writes Bradford, "they began to think how they might raise as much corn as they could, and obtain a better crop." They began to question their form of economic organization. This had required that "all profits & benefits that are got by trade, working, fishing, or any other means" were to be placed in the common stock of the colony, and that, "all such persons as are of this colony, are to have their meat, drink, apparel, and all provisions out of the common stock." A person was to put into the common stock all he could, and take out only what he needed. This "from each according to his ability, to each according to his need" was an early form of socialism, and it is why the Pilgrims were starving. Bradford writes that "young men that are most able and fit for labor and service" complained about being forced to "spend their time and strength to work for other men's wives and children." Also, "the strong, or man of parts, had no more in division of victuals and clothes, than he that was weak." So the young and strong refused to work and the total amount of food produced was never adequate. To rectify this situation, in 1623 Bradford abolished socialism. He gave each household a parcel of land and told them they could keep what they produced, or trade it away as they saw fit. In other words, he replaced socialism with a free market, and that was the end of famines." Richard J. Maybury http://mises.org/daily/336 _____________________

PS I was surprised; I hadn't heard that Dubya had been indicted. _____________________

You guys had yours last month. Greyhound? Yuck. Couldn't you have taken a train? Usually I do take a train . . . but I had to stay late, and the last one had left. I frequently get stuck with the stupid bus on Wednesday nights. I've decided it is my penance for . . . something. ![]() Yes, we had ours last month, but ours isn't anywhere NEAR as good as yours! Yours is this huge family thing, akin to Christmas in some ways. Ours is really a pretty pale shadow of that. Sort of like our Canada Day (July 1) is a really pale shadow of July 4. Our holidays suck. _____________________

I tried to do what I could for Canada Day ![]() I've decided that I am going to repost all my vanity pics in this thread, just to bump up the count, in an effort to try to get it to the magic numbr before I go on my vacation in the middle of December. I'll pretty much be offline that whole time, and would hate to see it happen without me. _____________________

I wonder if we can convince Josh to wear something like that for next Canada Day? And bring on the vanity pics! One of the unfortunate things about this thread (as Kylie noted a short while ago) is that it's almost impossible to go back and find stuff you might want to see again. _____________________

I don't even have photoshop.
The texture of the skin on the face is lighter than the rest of the skin. |
