I'm off to my sister's house later today. Should be fun. I don't know how much around I'll be inworld or on the forums until Friday or Saturday, so be good, everyone!

And even if it's not your holiday, Happy Thanksgiving!

Big hugs to everyone for whom it's not such a great holiday.

Poor dear. I'm biting the bullet for the holidays, because saving up vacation time for a big family vacation in July. I'll need 3 full weeks minimum, so will be one of the few covering at work while others have a restful, lovely holiday season. The highlight of my holidays will be lunch with Maureen and Kaimi, but then again, that's quite a highlight, eh? :)

I, at least, have Thursday off. Nothing else. I've never had as much as 3 vacation days in a row, much less 3 weeks (paid vacation days vs. unpaid day off or paid holiday).

Though I've had 2 vacation days plus a holiday attached to a weekend. Didn't get paid for the weekend, though.

I've had several three day weekends recently. Consisted of dental work on friday. Then sleep rest of friday then resting up on weekend. Probably with more sleep.

Regarding trampolines. I cannot recall anyone getting injured when I was a kid. I even remember in my parents' hometown there was a...trampoline park! It seems as if there were at least...10 trampolines set up. They were not like the one depicted in Mari's pic; these were affixed to the ground, each over its own..pit.

ETA: whoa! I just found a pic of what I meant!

That is way cool.

Everything you do you do in such a COOL way, Mari.

The forum has me back in MST again. I was there last week in rl, but I didn't have my computer with me. It's just weird to see my own posts as having happened in the future.

Thanks!

How is the future? Do we have flyin' cars?

The government (well, contractor). I do get 6 hours every two weeks (actually 6.10, we have to bill at .25 intervals (15 minutes), and they include an extra .10 in vacation time? shesh, thanks, can't use that until it builds up to .25). Which I burn through with such silly things like teeth appointments and the like.

oh, forgot I separated out a section.

I'm vaguely thinking of creating something like a fashion blog. Visiting places found in "best of" threads (clothing, skin, etc.); and also of whatever I end up picking up on Hump Wednesdays (69L); ?L Friday's, ?L Monday's, 25L Tuesdays, etc. I might include hunts but I'm tired of hunts.

but Lexxi, that adds up to 4 weeks of leave per year... about equivalent to 2 weeks vacation, normal paid holidays, and a couple sick days. About the same as most workers get, although we can usually work up to 3 or more weeks vacation.

I've been with my company over 10 years and my vacation is maxed at 3 weeks, with 7 paid holidays, and 6 sick days per year. And I'm forced to use over a week of vacation during our Christmas shutdown, like it or not.

So really, you're not so bad off, but you do have to plan a bit more than others do to make sure you get your holidays off. :)

Well, I'm a contractor not actually a government employee so I don't get all the holidays off. And if you ever hear anything like "The government closed early; late arrival for government employees" that indicates time off - does not apply to me. Could have 8 feet of snow on the ground, we have to be there (I have no idea why I'm including this part). We do not get sick days.

Also, I use up my 6 hours at dentist appointments and the like.

Hey, I have a job, get some time off, and all that. I was just noting that I've never had 3 striaght vacation days in a row off work. Though I got 5 days off once by putting 2 vacation days together with 1 holiday day and 2 weekend days. Most of the time the closest I get is a three day weekend. A lot of the time, though, I end up like this week. No work on Thursday, back to work on Friday.

Hey all...is there anyway that is fast to find a pic in this thread that I posted last year? I hesitate to have to go through page by page, but I looked in the search and there doesn't seem to be any other way of doing it...am I missing something? Thanks

Go to advanced search. Put user name in user name box. Search entire posts. At Least 90,000 posts. Posts from year ago to newer (or leave default). show results as posts. In Search in Forums have it highlight Resident Answers

I'm not sure if it will keep the search, but here are 200 for Kylie.
