As far as reality shows go, the only one I like and follow is "Project Runway."

The hosts are so great - Heidi Klum is perfect, and I ADORE Tim Gunn. He is the *only* celebrity I would like to meet.

Nina Garcia and Michael Kors (the judges) really have a lot of insightful things to say.

Oh! During the holiday, someone was talking about a guy they know (a person I've never met) who is a professional dancer AND plays on an amateur rugby team.

I was really surprised, because I assumed that the dancer would be afraid of getting hurt.

"Isn't rugby a violent sport?" I asked. "It's no-holds-barred, isn't it?"

One man said, "No, of course not. They can't hit or punch each other. That's why they don't wear any gear."

Another said, "It's a madman's game."

So who was right? (I am guessing that all three of us were wrong.)

Anybody care to go for a little ride? I'll drive.

BTW, you DO know that you -- and Love, Ciera, and Katt -- have been sort of unofficially "nominated" as future Post 6 Grrrlz on the Herald?

Strange though this might sound coming from me, I seriously think you should consider it.

EDIT: I am flattered, but I will respectfully decline. I am not a regular Herald reader, but I took a look. And after the skewering that some of you gave the current honoree, I think I'll pass.

You have a blog with explicit Dolcett pics?

I can sympathize. I've actually been offered -- and not just by those anxious to have a clearer shot at me -- but I wouldn't, for a number of reasons.

I think you'd be good precisely because you are attractive, poised and . . . more to the point . . . intelligent, articulate, and interesting. These are all qualities sorely lacking in most of the candidates. And I've course, I'd protect you from the nasties . . . :D

But yeah, it's not really a lot of fun, I suspect. :(

ETA: Was "skewering" a deliberate funny?? :p

Exactly. I'm not here to make any kind of statements or to be an activist of any sort, I'm just looking for entertainment from SL. I don't begrudge people such as you who look for a deeper purpose to it, as long as they do it inteligently and rationally, as you usually do. But to be honest, I felt dragging her blog, which she didn't mention, into that situation was a bit of an ambush. And we all know how the pileon can grow quickly. I'm not interested in having to "Defend My Second Life" in the SL equivalent to the National Enquirer.

A poster named Brandon:

Whatever it is I think she (the 6 grrrl) is interesting. Even if the text is a bit bland. Alpha why don' you interview a real woman with fire? Theres a few on the forums I can think of. I can think of some right now, Katty, Ciera, Love, Brenda any of these I would love to hear speak their minds without fear of LL bannage.

Ater reading that again, I definitely want no part of being put up there on display fro some of those yahoos to snipe at.

But thank you, Brandon anyway. :)

One note. I've never tempered my thoughts here with any thought of a ban hammer falling on my head.

I take your point, but a public blog is a public statement, and one that expresses something about its author. I'm far from surprised that she didn't talk about this one on the post, but does that mean it is "hands off"? As I noted there, if Prok was featured, would people restrict their comments to what he said there? I can assure that if I agreed to pose, the same people bitching now wouldn't hesitate to trawl the webz for things I'd said that they could use against me. Indeed, I've had THAT happen here, on this forum. And again, that's cool: if I said it publicly, I am accountable for it.

As to it being the equivalent to the National Enquirer . . . sadly too often true.

Sorry, I was being flip. Brenda's quoted it. It's in the most recent Post 6 Grrrl comments section.

Yeah - I don't think I would subject myself to all of that bashing.

I didn't say it was hands off. But just because you can say something doesn't mean you have to. I agree that others would get it too, and I would still say it was wrong, against the spirirt of the article. From what I gather, that is supposed to be a fluff piece, not Meet The Press.

I've never seen A of C. I like Cake Boss, the shop is in Hoboken, NJ, and I go there fairly often. I've never been when they are filming though.
My favorite show now though, at least until SS comes out..is "Man vs Food". That guy is a riot.
I haven't heard of Man vs Food - I like to laugh so I'll have to check it out. The thing I didn't like about Cake Boss is that everyone seems to be angry at everyone. Plus I was already a fan of Ace, where everyone is super mellow and always seem to be having fun.
