When I see all the fantastic pictures everyone puts up I'm always half-way inspired to join in but then too lazy to do anything about it.

So, I was summoned for Jury Duty today. Fortunately, our county is one day or one trial, so I didn't get picked for a case so my civic duty has been done. I also got in a little shopping during lunch as the is a Century 21 around the corner from the court house.

It's my third time. I treat it like a long plane ride (I bring lots to read, lots to do, snacks, etc.). They haven't picked me yet.

I bring lottery tickets and scratch one every hour.

Last time I ended up chatting the whole time with a professional geneologist. She was squinting over some old hand-written records so I asked what she was up to.

Thanks Treasure *beam*. Unlike me, you do not look at all like a grandmother in rl. In fact when I saw you you looked just like this picture - but with less exotic clothes and possibly more exotic hair (which is to die for).

That is because, much to my dismay, chagrin, embarrassment, and grief, I am *not* a grandmother. I am so ready to be a grandmother. My husband and I have 5 kids between us, all grown. One married, the oldest. NOBODY has given birth to anything. What is wrong with them? They tell me it is because it was beat into their heads, in their younger years, not to get pregnant, not to get anybody pregnant, so now it's like a phobia or something. I tell them it's ok now, forget all that. So if I do not look like a grandmother now, I am totally ready to, anytime my kids are ready to provide me with a reason to look like a grandmother. I'm sure I will magically metamorphose the instant I learn I am to be a grandmother. I hope on that day, I will be as beautiful as you are.

ETA: I'd give up the unruly hair anyday, to hold a grandchild in my arms.

My kids are grown and moved out of the house, but since they are still in college, I do not want them giving me any grandkids yet. They don't really seem ready to find that special someone and settle down anyway right now.

My oldest married a woman with MS. She has chosen not to have children. I love her to death, am thrilled to have her in the family and accept and respect her decision. The next 2, one is a lawyer and one is a bank manager, both graduated from college (and law school) years ago. It's those 2 I am really looking askance at. What is the problem?

The 2 youngest are still early 20's relationships aren't serious, just havin fun. I'm ok with them, they aren't responsible enough yet. But those 2 middle ones are giving me the blues.

Oh that looks good! and just the thing, after stuffing myself on turkey. I hope those who had a holiday, had a great one! I sure did.
