From: Maureen Boccaccio So for those of you who will be celebrating Thanksgiving this week...what goodies are "must haves" at your gathering? Ham! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBoLA_BQ4tUAs far as vegetables go, asparagus is the bomb. I don't like turnips either, the way they lurk on your plate masquerading as potatoes.

Cool pics Koko. I'm so glad that someone took a pic of me soon after I emerged from the womb of Linden Lab. It's a nice keepsake to see how you've progressed after the years have passed. I always try to take a pic of recent noobs I run into and give it to them as a souvenir to look and laugh back upon.
While we're on the topic of Thanksgiving. I'd love to know everyone's turkey cooking techniques. I've done it a few ways, including brining (which is a pain in the arse for little return imho). I've always wanted to try deep frying a turkey but that seems like a pain and potentially really dangerous.

I'm with Eli on this one. yum yum yum.
Deep frying the turkey takes much less time that traditional roasting. We set up the fryer in the back yard (awaaaay from the house), and everything went just fine.

For me:
Turkey stuffing / dressing mashed potatoes cranberry sauce (which I make, tyvm; none of that canned stuff on Turkey Day) Two types of pie: pumpkin and mincemeat all that AND GRAVY, Pecan Pie is a MUST, and i love the green bean casserole, and for some reason i expect peppered fresh corn on the table. oh, and like cranberry relish with pecans and mandarin oranges in it, yum

From: Joshooah Lovenkraft They have fun pairs of free roller and ice skating skates at Abranimations right at the landing spot Rafe. It has a hud and you can do tricks and things. TY Josh. Abranimations has always been one of my favorite creators of animations. I have roller skates with animations in them from '05 made by Moopf Murray. It will be interesting to see the difference.

But see, you aren't one of those people and are very aware of the riskies, so you will be extra careful and be safe and fine. It's really worth it, it's not a pain at all. We either do that or smoke it. My husband likes it best smoked. I'm not a big fan of most smoked meats, and I like it fried.

Wild game, mashed taters, homemade cranberry sauces, fresh baked rolls, stuffing, and pumpkin pie are my Thanksgiving day favorites. My family always has fried turkey on the table but I generally head for the venison and game birds.

From: 3Ring Binder Mari, great update. I especially love the pic of you holding the box. Thanks! I really liked that she had different donation levels. You could buy a can of food, a canvas tote bag full of food, or a box of food. Was kinda neat idea. Here's the hand=written thank you note she has up at her store: From: Maureen Boccaccio *waves to Mari*
yay for Cubey's new parachute!!!
I meant to stop by the opening of the Grand Ole Opry - it looks great!
And what a great idea for a fundraiser! *smiles*
That train looks AWESOME. I know how much you enjoy a train trip. *smiles*
Thanks again, Mari. You've put a smile on my face to start my work week. Ya, the new 'chute is awesome. Not something I'll use too often, I bet, but it'll be on when i'm out flyin. Here's another shot of the Ryman Auditorium/Grand Ole Opry. From the outside. It's really a great addition to Bay City, replacing the giant "eiffel tower" build that was there and really adding to that street. I make no apologies for my love of the city, an I gotta say it's looking *really* good and solid in some place. The area from Argos to Imaginario is really a delight, IMO. Makes me wish SL had more of a culture of walking/browsing. Here's what it looks like from my end of the city nowadays. That train ride was really well done. All automated, several multi car trains on the track, etc. It's no long SLRR run, but it was still fun.

That and the fact that Thanksgiving is usually at my older sister's house and she wouldn't trust me to do it since I'm always responsible for doing the turkey I was a bit of a pyro as a child lmao I've had smoked turkey as well and that is quite delish.

Thanksgiving must-haves: Turkey Gravy Dressing Candied Yams Jello salad Green beans with slivered almonds There might be mashed potatoes, too. Pumpkin Pie Apple pie...although this year I'm going to buck the Geek and make pecan pie instead. And, oh yes...guests. Have you ever gotten something for free that wound up costing you a lot of money in the end? That happened to me twice the last couple of weeks. First, we got a Kitten. "Saffron", because of an orange patch on the top of her head, is one of a litter of three rescued feral kittens. Her brother and sister went off with my middle child, but she stayed behind. She's tiny, but has an earthshaking purr. And this week she goes to the vet. I can't take any animal to our vet and get out of there for less than $200. Second, Alisha brought over her enormous Starax sculpture and we tried to find a place to put it. I have a half sim, and there are a couple of places where it fits...technically speaking. But visually? That monster dwarfs my twelve story high rise condo building! But Alisha, being a friendly and giving sort, gifted me with a couple of boat rezzers. "Great!" I thought. "My tenants will love these". Then I started thinking, "What do people do in little boats?" Well, they go fishing of course. So it was off to Seven Seas for a fishing outfit. And of course, I needed to spruce the place up to make drifting on the water more visually appealing, so I picked up a bunch of palm trees and seagulls and turtles and things from ee Oh. For a "store" that's nothing but a pile of vendor boxes on a tropical beach, ee Oh gives some fantastic customer service, from seeing the product in use to after-sale follow up. Not to mention that he also has trees that can drop coconuts on the heads of the unwary. BONK! I may just damage-enable my land for the lolz! With a kitten purring in my lap and coconuts plonking down all over the place, it's a good start to the week.

ee Oh is and awesome creator. I have his bloody shark rezzer. It rezzes 1 to 7 scripted sharks that will swim randomly all over a sim and attack any avatars in the water. Unfortunately we can't use them right now. They don't work too well on a land-locked mainland roadside parcel.
