Yes, by the fire pit area. Strange how the fire pit area was the main meeting point at the time. I think people even causally mentioned sadness over the building not being used. Now, of course, hardly anyone uses the firepit area.

I wonder if it would be a good idea to change the forced landing point every month or so. I know I haven't been around too long... but I have noticed that nobody seems to ever leave the building. :)

There's a forced landing point? I never use that. It's uncomfortable having everyone say "Hello" when you can't see them yet.

I land in the ocean behind the giant robot thing and then wade to shore, go up the steps and make a grand entrance. :D I can usually see everyone (and have dried off) by then.

I think it's cool that groups and environments take on a life of their own. I bet we could get grant money to do a survey or something on why people congregate where they do in SL. But let's don't.

I'm sure some college student from Amsterdam or Krakow will be along to post a survey on that any minute.

So, finally got a chance today to do a serious catch up on the Thread. Lots of wonderful pix, of course.

@ Seven - I kept wanting to mention that every time you tell stories of what transpires between you and your family of SL related things (or even not) I literally crack up. You have a wonderful way of relating these tales and I do hope you join the rest of us who have started to blog.

Anyway, have been inworld the past few days after several weeks of laying low, and shooting some vanity shots. Can't post quite a few, as they are too racy for here but this one is for general consumption :p

I just had to share this. Clover sent me this picture of us dancing in the moonlight.

She does a wonderful job with frames and the photoshop work. I never can do it like she does.

A bit of vanity and a question. First, one last look at the flat.

We took down the apartment/roof-top build and I want to build something "in the clouds." I like the way it looks at Pillow Talk's main store, but they have the build set at the top of the system clouds. This makes the foggy wisps float through everything and I really would rather not have it inside the buildings. Instead I will use a few cloud poofers for extra wisps I can control.

So here's the question. Has anyone ever done something like this? Prim clouds or some type? What textures did you use, if I may ask? I currently have tried some prim snow and set the transparency up a little but it comes out looking more like ice. The mist textures I have are small and look like smeared paint when put on a large prim. And finally, looking on SLX has not yielded any leads. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
How about using particle generators?

I *did* take care to put the sarcasm emoticon in.

Pep (But most of you seem to have missed the point anyway. )
It was an ok point. At the local school district where I worked for some years there were at least a few people who worked at the ed center who were paid significantly more than anyone who worked in a school, which is where I think some of the most important work was done. I believe in higher education everyone is paid better and I imagine the work might be more equitable too, since the students are all there by choice.

Anyway I'm sure Mo works very hard and does a great job. I hope she is well paid.

Once I got started setting up house, it sort of changed a couple of times and I finally went with a steampunk airship.

Very cool.

Oh....SNAP!
It's easy to tell you're hanging around 3Ring - you are catching her habit of making irrelevant and unconstructive "me too" posts. :p

/me needs to know were Clover got that, ummm, "hair"?

Fantastic! And love the way the framed shot came out. I've never toyed around with photoshop at all yet. My computer sucketh. I'm on the verge of purchashing a brand new one (other things were first in line, but the system is next). Can't wait to start playing around with some new picture accesorizing programs.

Josh - nice job for your first vanity shots!

@ Rhonda and Brenda - thanks for enjoying my photo. I just purchased one of Tuli's new Goth skins from their Hope line and one thing led to another in my photoshere (which I rarely use anymore).

And Bren, I'm really enjoying your blog. You're a natural at it.

For the record, I certainly did not take exception to Tex's post yesterday about teachers and administrators, etc. Sheesh. It was clever, and at the elementary/secondary school level, it's quite possible it's on target. :D In fact, I did a paper at university discussing the outrageous inequity in salaries -- not between educators and administrators, but between educators and professional athletes in the U.S.

As Lil indicated, I do work at a university, and this is Orientation Week for the new students, so we are slammed. :p

Hope everyone has a good week. :)
