um....inquiring minds would like to know who the "he" is in "We went dancing!" :)

Yes, most definitely. For once, the attention is not Lula in one of her pictures, which is quite remarkable.

Lexxi...there were no pics in your post....

I was wondering if anyone would catch that. There are no pictures because I haven't been doing anything. I could post a picture of me sitting on the ground at home, but that picture is both old and not on Flickr.

Tell that to Sonia Sotomayor.

Have you seen the hearings? They've been telling her over and over.

I hope when I'm up for the Supreme Court, no one uses this thread against me.

Lovely, lovely pic!

But...um....inquiring minds would like to know who the "he" is in "We went dancing!" :)
We definitely NEED to know. It is our job to look after our fellow threadies. And, um, pardon me for saying, but that "dancing place" looks kind of like someone's house rather than a public dance place.
:D

I got a luminaria for my RL mommy, who recently (like, 2 weeks ago) went under the knife for breast cancer:

*hugs*

I hope your mom's post-op recovery is going smoothly, Mari. My closest friend was diagnosed over a year ago, and so far...so good. :)

One year ago today...
The beginning of what has been a remarkable year that I wouldn't trade for anything.

Enjoying the moon at Lauk's Nest.

First dance at Java Island.

Sharing a glass of wine at VSN.

May the next year be as amazing as the last.

/me hugs you, Mari, and wishes your mom a speedy recovery. i will pray on her behalf. Sadly, I got 3 luminaries for loved ones who did not win their fights. :( But, I also got two for one other person, who i only met just last night, who is still in the fight. She is feisty, so I know she will be a survivor! please x your fingers and pray for her if that's what you believe in.

HA! it was so great walking 'most of' one whole lap at the RFL (took about 3 hours). i got to spend my SL evening with one of my most favoritist SL peoples, and some of his friends. was very fun! the lag was evil, and there were some crashes, but all in all it was a great time. Even better, i ran into lots n lots of totally cool and awesome SL folks that i have come to care about and respect, even if we didn't really get to chat or hang out. ;)

Hey thanks for that - Didn't realize there was even and official adption of it. However, /me is remaining firmly Hispanic when the adjective is appropriate, but as American as apple pie (a la mode?) :D .

i just call you an American. i don't know why people in America always feel they have to be boxed up and labeled by their geneology....

when the last census came around, i almost ended up in jail because at first i refused to answer the census. when i finally did cave in because i was threatened, i refused to label myself anything other than American. i guess i was more stubborn than they could back up, because they finally left me alone.

but i remember being angry for a long time about that. it's no one's business what nationality anyone is. it just doesn't matter. people have these damm causes that they want us to all assimilate and be a "melting pot" and then those same people spend countless monies trying to divide us by color.

POLITICS! hmph!!! don't get me started. i'm in a great healthy place in my life, and i'd like to keep it that way. LOL

Thankoo all for yer thoughts an prayers an stuff. She was lucky that she found it very early on, so it was pretty small an hadn't really had a chance to spread much. she should be okay. She was in surgery a couple weeks ago, an is soon starting the chemo.

She was not the only one I honored at RFL either. My daddy survived bladder cancer, and I lost a very dear cousin to lymphoma.

We already have an uprising starting here in prep for the census next year. Based upon the constitution, you are not actually required to tell them any more than how many adults in the house and how many children.

So, next year, I'll probably be the one in jail.

That is very good to hear, Mari. A friend of mine just had her second mastectomy. Luckily for me, she is the only one that I know personally that has ever fought any sort of cancer.

they want to know how much money you have and lots of other stuff too. i don't think so. mi lied about everything. it's none of their damm business and i'll be dammed if i'll be bullied in to revealing all my personal information to a bunch of politicians who only want the info so they can give away more of myhard earned dollars to welfare recipients. screw you!

yes. at least, that's what the deputy told me when he came to my house for the 2nd time, wearing his reflective sunglasses and holding a fresh form.

he sure looked hot in his uniform though, and his blonde hair. and i knew him (sort of), so i caved. :o

Yes - but the constitution only requires a head count so that the number of representatives can be determined. All the other crap is just stuff they have added in the last few census counts.

ETA -- Actually, I just looked it up and the law is that you can be fined for not responded and fined even more for lying, but there is nothing that states you can be sent to jail. And according to the Census Bureau, nobody has actually ever been fined for not sending in the form.
