Click on the picture to pull it up by itself - lower right it says "flag your photo" - click that and click 'moderate' or 'restricted' and also check 'hide from public search' if you want.

Oh! thats easy. Thanks Lil :)

For some reason I've always had this image in my head of Claire as a sweet young schoolgirl.

Pics like that are making me rethink that.

Great pics from everyone else as well but that last one made me go "WOW".

Today's vanity pics come from the vaults of yesterday, from 2007 to be exact. I have so few of them, in some ways I'm glad, but also sorry at the same time.

They may have been posted before, I'm not sure.

Brenda, I am loving this trip down memory lane with you. :)

I have a question for someone that knows about the Emerald viewer. It seems as though only a portion of the screen shows up in pictures. I had 2 pics taken from the exact angle and with no zooming in. The first was taken with Snowglobe and the second with the latest Emerald viewer. The emerald one seems to crop the top and right of the pic. It makes it really hard to figure out how to compose a picture. Has anyone run across this and is there anything I can do to fix it.

Heya folks!

/me shares her special cinnamon and chocolate coffee with whoever wants some.

I watch the first episode of True Blood last night. We finally got it over here, and I've been dying to see it ever since I heard they were making it.
After reading the books, I'm really not sure whather I just like it or whether I love it. I knew they'd have to change some stuff to adapt it to TV, but some of the stuff they changed was what I loved about the books.
I know I'll keep watching it anyway, even separate from the books I think its a good show.

Brenda, try Enkythings. Dont think they are scultpy, but I love the Cupo boots, I have a pair of white ones, and the brown might work for you. (350L normally, but they on 50% off atm so only 175L) I'll drop a LM on you in case you want to check it out :)
ETA: the Pinson boots might work too...depends on the style you want

It's a GREAT series...just don't get crazed about how they've changed stuff between the book and the show. :)

I went to the Nationals game last night. Somewhat needless to say, they lost. Cubs won 3-1 (or Nationals lost 1-3).

Saw "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" today. It was really good!

Now I want to re-read that book, as well as the final one, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows."

A Really Crappy Mood
07-18-2009 13:45
I went rl clothes shopping today, one of my most hated activities. It was 103 degrees out, all the traffic lights leading up to the mall were broken. I walked the mall and I bought enough clothes to take me at least through the summer. The lines were too long to get an iced coffee or something. I got home and found one pair of shoes I bought still had the #$$$%** theft proof tag thing on it. How did I get out of the store with that on there? Who knows? Hey I'm deaf, I didn't hear any alarms. Nobody stopped me. So my husband wrestled with the plastic theft proof tag for half an hour and finally got it off without damaging the shoe. Good thing cause I would have thrown the suckers in the trash before going back.

Going to try to go inworld now and see if I can get to the RFL; if not, will send a donation. I'm glad shopping is over and hope I don't have to go back for really long time.

The word 'hero' is used too lightly these days. A true hero left this earth today, although he would likely have told anyone calling him that to not be so daft.

Henry Allingham was not only the world's oldest man, he was also one of the last survivors of World War One. The last remaining survivor of the Battle of Jutland, who also served at Ypres and the Somme, he was a founding member of the Royal Air Force. Even in his incredibly advanced years, he toured schools and attended commemorations, to keep the memory of his 'old pals' bright and alive, and to speak about the horrors of war.

When asked about his longevity, he jokingly attributed it to cigarettes, whisky and wild women. When asked how he would like to be remembered, he said simply: "I don't. I want to be forgotten. Remember the others."

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8157128.stm
My hat is off to him. Thanks for sharing an inspiring story, Skell.

What a perfect summertime pic. :) I'm glad you're having a fun time at camp, Mari. :)
I couldn't agree more. Mari is quite fantastic at this.

I happened to take a few 100 pictures.
Here Nick Johnson is about to ground out.

Skies were cloudy and threatened thunderstorms

You had a great seat! - or maybe a great telephoto lens on your camera. Brilliant pics in either case.

One very sad thing to report today, I'm afraid. A spectator trying to cross the road at a very bad time was struck and killed by one of the many motorcycles that ride along with the cyclists. The crash injured at least two others.

Today Stage 14 of Le Tour De France was flat, 199 km from Colmar to Besancon. It started with a lot of attacks and at 24km a large group were able to break away. This group eventually included 12 riders on 11 different teams, including a Team AG2R teammate of Rinaldo Nocentini, who has managed to hang onto the overall race lead for over a week.

All the other riders in the breakaway worked well together and none of their teams, in the main group behind worked to chase them down. Astana did most of the work keeping the leaders from getting too far ahead, although none of the men in the breakaway are a real threat to the hopes for overall victory of Astana's Alberto Contador or Lance Armstrong.

AG2R, the team with the most to lose, did not seem to have much energy for chasing. The man with the most to gain was my personal favorite cyclist, George Hincapie, the USA rider on the Columbia team. He started the day in 28th place, five minutes and 25 seconds behind race leader, Nocentini, and probably did more work than anyone else in the lead group, which was more than 6 minutes ahead of the peloton for a long time.

In the final km's the members of the breakaway began attacking each other and Russian Sergui Ivanov of Russian team Katusha, was able to get out in front of the others and take the win.

Until the breakaway, the plan of Hincapie's team, no doubt, was to try for another win for their sprinter Mark Cavendish. But with the chance of taking the yellow jersey for a day they were able to relax for most of today. Cavendish is still trying to win back the Green Jersey of the overall sprint competition so eventually Team Columbia had to start riding hard to set him up to beat the other sprinters in the peloton. Apparently he did win that tight sprint but was awarded no points in the Green Jersey competition because of irregularities at the last second. I don't know any more about that yet. The Green Jersey remains on the back of Thor Hushovd(Cervelo).*

And to the extreme disappointment of Hincapie, and his many fans all over the world, the peloton arrived at the finish line with 5 seconds to spare for Nocentini to hang on to the overall lead. “Big George” (6'3” 165lbs.) is 36years old and this is his 14th Tour de France. He was an important teammate of Lance Armstrong for all 7 of Lance's TdF victories. George has won one stage in a past Tour and has worn the Yellow Jersey for one day. He has also won numerous one and two day races and stages in other long tours. He has his own development team, bringing up young cyclists and is the the guy with the most experience on Team Columbia.
