That is a terrible thing to do to the guy that has been so politely stalking you.

LMAO - the article is funnier than the town name or sign:

http://unusuallife.com/2007/07/12/a-little-town-in-austria/

I was going to post a link to the Wiki on it also, but that link has the town name in it and would therefore violate the PG guidelines of this forum -- so you'll just have to search Wiki if you want to read that write up.

Yeah there's more too, after he cut off my braid (he only did it because that's how boys show they like you, they hit you and stuff) he became my 'boyfriend', walked me home from school, carried my books and beat up other boys on my behalf, who were also trying to 'like' me by hitting or chasing me. But when we were in 6th grade, our moms, who were friends, decided we were too close, and if they didn't split us up, I'd be pregnant before I was 13. So I got sent to private school and we drifted apart...when I came back to the public school system, in 10th grade, we'd totally moved on, he was dating cheerleaders and drill team girls and I was seriously college bound, not his type at all anymore. He wasn't mine either, was arrogant and a jazz band musician, they all thought they were 'all that'. So I didn't let him know I was back, and he never knew. He married a cheerleader, I went on to college. We hooked up at our high school reunion, both on the reunion committee, both divorced. So it's a 2nd marriage for both of us, probably better this way as we've both settled down some. lol

i love these stories. :D

@3 - getting punched in the nose by a stranger on your first day of kindergarten might have been one of the defining moments of your life. It could explain a lot... just saying.

i grew up in a ROUGH neighborhood (we were the minority race) and an even rougher home environment. it explains everything. just saying. :)

i know myself very well. like you, i am VERY self analytical. and i like me. i'm good people. just don't mess with my kids. i'm not good people under those circumstances. :p

I have no kindergarten stories.

My mother ended up basically moving every three years as a kid. Daughter of an army officer. Father stayed in same place as a kid. Father and mother moved all over the place before second child (father in air force). Retired from Air Force as didn't want kids to have the disruptions mother had as child. (edit in that they meet at college)

Rather wish they had moved around. At least once. I really needed a chance to start over with a new group of neighbors/students when high school started (I actually begged them to move, heh). At least I thought so right before I started. And after I'd been there. oh well. heh.

I've lived in the same area my whole life. I'm eternally trapped. If people end up coming back, living more lives on earth, I'll probably end up here again. Forever. life after life. Never leaving. I mean living elsewhere beyond breaks for school, or vacation (not that I've ever had a vacation - I've been places, like England and Mexico but one, England, was school classes in England, second was vacation-like, but between college semesters). I did go to college far away (two different, one graduate). Same state though. Large state.

i never traveled outside of my own state until just a few years ago, and as of today i've only been to 3 states, one of them the one i live in. i decided that where i am is heaven compared to whatever else is out there. i was not impressed. i am quite content to stay right here and never leave again. literally.

my husband, however, has other ideas.

Threadies, I'm going to Blue Linden's office hours later today to argue for keeping these Forums. If you have a comment to make in support of the Forums, can you post it in "If the Answers 'forum' is a non-starter, where to next?" thread? I'm cutting and pasting all constructive comments into a Notecard to give to Blue at the meeting.

Let's make an effort!

i'm too late for this, and i can't wait to find out what you learned.

Howdy folks!

I don't remember much about kindergarten, but I definately remember starting 1st grade.

Up until I started 1st grade I was Ricky, I'm not even sure I knew my given name was Richard. So during the first few minutes of the first day at catholic school this huge mean nasty ogre of a nun we had as a teacher starts calling out "Richard".
I had no idea that she meant me. She proceeded to chew me out telling me that my proper name was Richard and that when she called Richard I had better answer.

Well, a week later my family moved out to the suburbs and I was enrolled in public school and never went back to a catholic school again.

However, I've gone by my "proper" name, Richard, ever since.

:( i hate than nun.

Well, it was a very civil discussion. I'm kicking myself for not logging it, but oh well.

Long story short: Blue took lots of votes:

3rd party moderation: bad or good?
Light or heavy moderation?
Inworld ban = Forum ban?
Beta test of new forum software?

Maybe one or two others. I hope we tried to get across that we want to keep the Forums as is, but were grudgingly willing to try another software, as long as they ported all existing info from here to there.

Most votes were roughly split down the middle, except for light vs. heavy moderation - that was all "light" (or none.)

Gayathri Linden was there and had no clue that nearly everyone has issues with SL Answers. I pointed him to a couple of threads here. Both Blue and Gayathri are totally decent people. :)

Did you go in the sci fi avi?

Did anyone ask them why they have refused to update THIS software for over 2 years?

I had this conversation with a male friend:

He: Can we go dancing?
Me: I'm not really dressed for dancing. I'm trying to take a picture. I'm wearing man's boxers and a long, men's leather coat and boots.
He: When you change clothes, tp me.
Me: What, don't you want to see me?
He: It doesn't sound very sexy.
Me: Huh. well, now I know you're honest.

I took off the coat and boots.

My boxers picture:

I logged it while i was there, Oryx-

I think regardless though- as much as they were pleasant- it is a fait acompli - why it cannot be the same and just upgrade the stinking software i dont know - it is really more a here is what is happening kind of thing i think-

I dont even think the Lindens in attendance can really affect company policy you know - but oh well we shall see- i will hate losing our community here.

Yeah I went in my gold skin. There were quite a few cool avatars there. A panda, hippo, Snoopy, dragon, robot, Blue himself, etc.

We have and they sort of skipped around the subject.

Seven: I love the angle on your boxers shot!

Amara: I think he's hot. And a good dresser. We all have different opinions. :)
