Sky, copy your shortcut to start second life, and edit the new copy, and on the target line, it should read like so:
"C:\Program Files\SecondLife\SecondLife.exe" -set SystemLanguage en-us add at the end the following, each one seperated by a space, and then run from that new shortcut. -safe -ignorepixeldepth -noinvlib -nosound -noaudio One you get logged in, do a Detach all, and close. Then try starting with your normal shortcut. |

There's a sim called (ironically enough) "Crash Me" created just for people who want to crash it... and for the Lindens to figure out exactly what happened. If you need a place to attempt to login, that might be a good place to try, and it might help the Lindens to figure out what's going wrong. Good luck!

What 10k? - LL pays $L10,000 for any provable and reproduceable exploits (exploit: a hole in SL's security) of SL that anyone finds, doesn't tell any griefers about it, and only tells LL about it so they can fix it before it becomes known to the griefers. Who in which high places? The FIC! ( The names that can't be named here ) (If I tell you what FIC stands for, someone will have to kill me.  ) Seriously, it's the top brass at LL, the lead system honchos, and an evil looking watermelon. How would u find out what's causing it? If you're not real good at analyzing PC/Software/System problems, then you can't. Stife is just letting you know that, on the upside that you might be able to figure it out. _____________________

Hi Sky,
I'm sure someone has asked you this already, but have you tried this yet? - Completely delete SL from your computer (that includes emptying the "trash" or "recycle bin"  - Reboot your computer. - Download Second Life and reinstall. - Check to make sure that NOTHING else is running; look at your Start Bar; on the lower right hand side, make sure you don't have Skype, anti-virus, CD Makers/Players, Multi-media or anything like that running. - Check to make sure that nothing like iTunes is running in the background (Ctrl-Alt-Del to Manage Tasks). I notice that even if I turn off iTunes, it keeps a child program running. - Then start SL in the Crash Me sim... _____________________

Sky, there is a region called Crash Me...Teleport there, and if you crash it, IM Dan Linden (not Daniel "I'm Broadly Offensive" Linden) and tell him about it. More than likely it is an attachment that crashes sims with physics. But, if you happen to stay together long enough, detach all attachments and try again in a normal sim.

"LR" might stand for "Linden Research". The company that produces Second Life is named "Linden Research, Inc."

on 3 different PCsPratyeka, I have 2 alts and they both run completely normally Brendan, no I didnt think they would cancal my acount, i ws worrying that its not recoverable. I have a lot to lose Johnny, good idea, but I cant IM dan linden with my main account as it only logs in long enough ot immediatly crash the sim, but i could IM him with my alt... hmmm, will try that Suzanne, ty, i will have a look and find it! What i need now is a voulenteer to stand in the sim while i log in to it, to confirm it went down. Tegg, do you think that could be worht money??? great!! new buisness ) |

The only way to clear them is with a restart of the sim. You could hire your avi out as an Invisi-Prim cleaner.  "Quick! Somebody call in 'The Cleaner' " hmmm...too bad you couldn't use some sort of beacon in the sky like Batman does. It would have to be a symbol...an invisi-prim symbol...nah.....that won't work...couldn't see it...hehe Just trying to make you smile while you work out these issues. (all my advice for you seems to already have been suggested) good luck |

If you find a serious exploit or security breach, or bug within security LL will pay you a bounty. |
