Congrats Sky!!

maybe that hug is in order now :-)

btw, I bought a mysti-tool once and when I attached it, strange things started happening. I lost gravity and started floating away...amongst some other things. ( I think I crashed too...not sure)

I removed it and all was well.

That sounds like a good idea... sort of a 'safe login' option, maybe you log in with a default 'ruth' avatar and no attachments, and at a welcome area. Sort of a lowest-common-denominator login.

Does sound like a good idea.

Removing your attachments at login as an option is a great idea!

I still love my mysti tool though and trust it... although the ability to crash sims would be a very unique add on for it.

This is apparently on the list of fixes for tomorrow's rolling restart?

Wow that's a long time to wait.

yeah...

Well, I guess I should assume the best - that it took this long to track down such an odd and uncommon problem, because it was so arcane and hard to reproduce. I'm trying, really I am.

Actually the bit of code they were looking for was probably at the bottom of the users manual ;) Seems to be the best place to hide bugs!

Nice to see that one of the fixes in today's rolling restart is:
SVC-912: Sky Eclipse’s avatar crashes regions EVERYTIME she logs in, regardless of where she logs in

Later:
Duh! Despite reading at a snail's pace I missed the snail post :)

Question for Residents:
How many avatars have their own dedicated SVC?
Skye is now legendary.

And seconds later:
While I was doing the last edit, Sally thought the same thought (following post). :) Hilarious

My thoughts too! WTG Sky!

I'm aware that the account was actually fixed a while back :)

(Is that a first btw, bug fix named after a person like that?)

Corrupt Gestures Crashing Sims
11-26-2007 11:55
I guess I'm kindof late finding this thread, but I had exactly the same problem a few months ago with a previous avatar. 99.9% of the time, the sim would crash within 20-30 seconds of login, on 2 occasions i managed to last 30 minutes and 2 hours respectively. Same "sim you are in is going down" message, and likewise no problem with an alt. Lindens took my avatar for 3 weeks with no solution before someone told me they had had similar and it was down to a corrupt gesture.

I went to one of those open water empty sims, managed to deactivate all gestures before crashing, and that avatar never crashed a sim since.

I imagine it's possible that any kind of corruption could cause something similar.
