I have voice on right now listening to my Dutch friends and trying to remember some of the Dutch I learnt as a teen. I have voice on most of the time Im in SL, its an excellent feature. If Im somewhere that is noisy like a club I go to IM voice chat to talk to friends.
Im only 7 months old and I imagine when all new features were introduced in the past there were the 'we dont want/need it, its the end of the world' lobby complaining....nothing ventured, nothing gained :)

Like I said, if you've got something to say that pertains to the ACTUAL topic of this thread (not the one going on in your mind), then feel free to respond to me.

Otherwise you're simply bantering on about absolutely nothing at all - something that could be done in world instead of cluttering up a message board.

That's brilliant! Now, if they could actually log into SL and actually rely on IM's or actually tp to one anothers locations to chat it would make perfect sense!

um have you logged into world lately?
not much anyone can do in world LOL

so that is why many are here, letting off steam in a fun way, instead of bitching and griping about voice or lag or lack of assets et al

if you are interested in threads about voice, there are plenty of them out there, that are probably not derailed and prolly sunk to page 3 or 4 of the thread list

voice threads are becoming old news, except for ones like that that get derailed :)

I will post in whatever thread comes up concerning any topic I have an opinion on, when I wish to.

If you'd like to talk about meaningless things such as hair go ahead and start a new thread or log into Second Life.

If you do not want to read on topic posts from those who literally just checked the boards after having been away for a day or two ... Well then, skip right on by them.

Oh, I thought the ACTUAL topic of this thread was hair, or whether Brenda is me, I'm Brenda, or whether we're all - and not just Colette - ACTUALLY insane.

Getting back to the subject at hand .... do you think guys look silly with flexi hair?

on that note I too will post in whatever thread I want to concerning any topic I have an opinion or interest in, and just as real conversations go, threads often too change subject matter

this one changed subject matter, people are actually have FUN, imagine that... people enjoying themselves, and oh my god, they are not actually discussing the original topic that was put out there... just like REAL conversations... imagine that

Derailing threads, especially ones on topics that have been argued to the point of nausea is a cherished tradition here. it is also a chance to have a little fun, a concept that seems to be draining from SL lately.

I love flex hair when done right, and some male styles I have seen totally rock (wear one myself sometimes I liked it so much LOL)

and yes I am female, playing a female avatar, and I do use voice (keeps voice in the subject here LOL)

Whats worse derailment, or flame war?

The other ones all become flame wars.

Simply becuase of this:

People who want voice, want voice ..

They arent interested in any potential negative issues that might be associated and thus pretend like there are none.

They Dismiss ANY problems brought up as controlable by either the parcel settings or the mute feature. Which is really over simplifying social dynamics a touch.

----------------
Really I think Voice:

Will be great for some people

Wont matter for some people

The simple fact its there will be a constant aggrivation for others due to a lack basic courtesy on the part of a fragment of Voice Users.

Wait..... meaningless and hair in the same sentence *GASP*

and yes erm the last part of that would make sense and be really cool and stuff, but doesn't seem to be much of an option right now, otherwise i'd be right there getting a new hairdo :D

I am a voice user and enjoy it, I understand when others do not desire it
I will not claim it is perfect and will not shun someone because they choose to not use voice
many many ppl have many many reasons to not use voice, just as many many users will have many many reasons to use voice

I have seen some heated arguements between ppl on both sides, and I think it is silly

I just do what I like, and as long as I am not hurting anyone in the process, then I do not see any reason for ppl to get upset with me :)
just as I will not be upset at others for doing their thing

and HAIR!! hehe yes I like hair, addicted to it, maybe... love shoes too

LOL
does it look like anyone posting here cares that you really want this thread to "stay on topic"

apparently you do care, you posted about it

the only thing I care about is life, be it my first second or other...

Hmm, no. How about I post to threads with topics/titles that grab my attention and that I have an opinion on?

How about you go away and cease responding to me if you have absolutely nothing to say regarding the thread topic (seen as the title) on which I've made a real, on topic post or two?

I'm not here at the moment to be 'nice' or to have 'fun' with derailing a topic or with said people doing the derailing.

Don't like it? Tough.

Want me to join in? Wait two hours - then I'll be wide awake and capable of being 'nice' and 'having fun'

Oh I dunno, do you prefer flexi or non flexi hair? Long or short?
