I want voice sometimes, but hate how they have destroyed text chat by not allowing seperate windows for IM and local chat. If people aren't ignoring you by using voice, they're ignoring you because they're in IM, way to kill all social networking guys......................... Is this why some IM's get sent to my email instead of the im window even when I'm inworld or is that working as intendedl? |

Click "Near Me" tab. Up near the top right corner of that tab there is a button that if you hover your mouse over will read "Tear off". Click it. Boom - seperate windows for IM and local chat. Just becuase you can't find the feature dosn't mean it's not there  |

Brand spaking noobies need to read the rules before they play. It's not our fault or Linden Labs fault that they don't really the TOS before clicking "accept." It's not anyone's fault that they don't click the word HELP on the top of their screen. Something said about the wisdom of reproving a fool comes to mind here. Denial is truly ugly. You were warned. Now that the stuff you were warned about is happening left and right, you're trying to shrug your shoulders and feign insouciance. Figures the only thing that would come out of a voicer's mouth in the end would be "It ain't my fault". Blame the victim right? Nothing ever changes and perhaps the worst mistake anyone could have made is to have expected people with this feature to not be the haughty assclowns they've always been. The start of all of this absurd malfunctioning was when they said a hearty eff-all to everyone and rolled out that disaster of an update to handle the instantaneous problems created by this almighty precious voice feature. Congrats. You wanted voice, now you've got it. Feel free to use it to discuss how you can no longer do a damned thing with the rest of the application. Pathetic. |

Kascha has made excellent points. I just DON'T TRUST voice. There are so many ways to grief and so many issues that a REAL voice used in SL could create. I dont think SL is established enough to begin to even handle the fall-out. Speaking as someone who was REALLY stalked in REAL life - any means by which a person can "tag" you is a bad thing. |

And that is a REALLY important point. I run a gallery and Search is essential. When do we get these things fixed and is VOICE gonna be messing up the world for months?? These new programs could be great IF they worked. But last night was a shambles. I was at an important exhibition and trying to purchase art - but the lag was terrible and eventually it all crashed.
