I didn't like that let it begin with me crap anyway.

Good man.

Ricardo - actually people like *inarticulate muttering and coughing* who is a known griefer, and has posted a few threads this week, is the best example of the sort of people who gets their thread derailed. Also, people who moan about non-issues. This thread could so easily have been derailed, but many of us agree with it. The woolley liberal rose-tinted brigade are also among the ones likely to get a good, hard, derailing.

But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

My title says it all....

to be blunt Im bored of those people who say

'havent you tried slx'

or 'theres such and such a forum for this.'

Why dont you people apply to be forum mods if it worries you that much ?

It seems to me that theres a little clique about which wants to control who says what here....

[humor]

Actually this question probably belongs in the whine and troll forum.

If you'd check SLX I'm sure you will find a "Whine & Troll in a Box" kit that is just what you need. Not that I approve of BIAB's.

In addition if you had used the search feature you would have found that this question has been asked a million times and has been done to death.

I just asked if I could get into the anti-clique clique and was told I was too chic.

Pricks.

I will admit to telling people to go to Building Tips/Texturing Tips/Scripting Tips because the experts there are far more likely to see it faster.

Yes, some of them read RA, but some of them never do, and the quality of the answer is going to be higher there than here, where most of the people don't specialize or have extensive experience in those areas.

And the fact that this hasn't sunk in and is met with derision is ridiculous. Because when you ask a technical question that may require in-depth knowledge, get 32 looks and no one answers, don't get pissy when you could have asked it elsewhere and gotten a knowledgeable answer half an hour sooner.

The reason we ask people to post in the correct forums is so that our ResMod, Strife might not have quite as much work moving things around.. far as I know he is the only moderator at prsent. We also do it to generaly keep the forums unclutered of things that belong someplace else, because they are already full of random crap (At least RA is).

Oh yeah, he is SO busy.

What a joke.

Where is he NOW, to moderate this thread that the same group of regulars has (typically) derailed into an off-topic "Look at me I am so humourous and clever" fest?

The anti-clique chaps are more cliquish than the fictitious clique ever was (since it never really existed anyway) or are at least more exclusionary. They like name-calling, attacks and insults. Not sure if any points got across, but certainly no respect was gained in this troll's eyes.

I think it's rather interesting how Ray here always bristles so much whenever the forum clique is mentioned.

You're reading it all wrong. The "bristle" is very dry wit, it can be hard to tell the difference.

Denying there is a clique through dry wit isn't very far removed from bristling.

I had a PM convo once with Ray, and funnily enough, he mostly agreed with me that there were regulars who he himself didn't like because of how they treat people with questions or complaints, he even went as far to say that i had correctly named some of them.

But here he is in the public eye, so denying that there are some regulars here who are "churlish" (his word) becomes a matter of self-preservation I suppose.

Because it's high school crap. Are we adults here or what? Want to be a part of something? It's easy: Come up with ideas, join in, be constructive and keep things light.

I will say there are certainly people I respect here a lot more than others. Because they've earned it. And the top folks on my list are not frequent posters anyway.

That doesn't reconcile very well with what you said to me in PM's.

Raymond, you are defensive about it (you seem to always be one of the first to try and bury such accusations through denials and sarcastic replies), and that defensiveness has been displayed when this is mentioned on other forums too. I have seen it.

I agree that it is high school, but apparently not for the same reasons.

That was said at a time when I was having disagreements with a few folks that were later resolved. Thanks for bringing our private conversation into the public. As far as self preservation, I could give a crap what anyone thinks of me. But when they make assumptions that aren't true I get defensive.

If I said churlish, it was a typo. I have never used that word.

Why do you care so much what I think and why are you keeping such close tabs on it? Do I matter to you that much or are you just really bored?

I don't think anyone is denying that there are a few that are churlish and that there are a few he dislikes. There are a few I dislike as well, and I certainly wouldn't be so rude as to be naming them in public - it's far more entertaining to let people wonder. I don't even think anyone denies that there is something that gets called a clique but is really just a set of people with a very similar sense of humor who enjoy out-smartassing each other.
