Then don't read it. Every one grives there way. Some feel the need to have that number every second. Some feel the need to shear it with others. If that is not your thing good, not mine, then don't take part in it.

I just couldn't stop myself saying, how is posting body count updates grieving? And who is grieving? Who knows anyone who died? What happened was not good. It was pretty nasty, and it was out of order, but what I kind of hate is the sensationalism of anything like this into some kind of fashionable OTT grievefest. People feel moved to offer their sympathies here in SL which is fine, but do we really need a regular gore update, a body count? And is that grieving? How can it be, so far not one of the 49 dead people was known to anyone in second life. I think we should leave the grieving to the families and loved ones of the 49. It is kind that people have expressed their sorrow that this happened, but let's not get into howling hysterical grieving for the great unknown. Leave the grieving to the families. Nod, turn, and move away.

How is it not? Keeping the numbers keeping the family and loved ones in our thoughts is a form of grieving. Who are you to say what is and is not a form of grieving for others?

Did you know any one that died on 9/11? If not did you grieve for that? We should all grieve for all life taken away unjustly.

Again that is your view. That is your way of dealing. Others deal differently so why judge them for that? Leave them be?

Some people want it. Some people feel a need to shear what they know. Why? Who caries it is a deeper psychological reason then I can go it to, I am a Eng not a shrink. I have gone to one long enough to under stand every one grieves differently, I started going because of grief.

Do you have a degree to show us you know psychology and what is and is not grieving? Why does one need to know some one that died to grieve?

Who are you to tell me or any one else what to do or how to feel? If people want to grieve let them if there way of dealing is by posting then let them and just move on. There is no reason to attack them and what they feel they should do.

And maybe that is best for you. Maybe that is what you would want. I for one would want this support if it was me and mine.

A few things - I dont think this thread shouldnt turn into an area to argue.

People should understand that feelings are very raw over something like this.

Yes some , (like myself - i appolgized) , made some political comments. This issue does immediately bring politics to mind, since terrorism is a political tool. An evil ruthless one, but it is one.

Watch the News Networks or listen to the radio and there is a HUGE ammount of political discussion surrounding what all happened. So although we shouldnt make political comments on this thread, please try to see perhaps why some spoke.

People are correct to point out that those comments dont belong on a sympathy thread. Comments meant to refute political statements (like i intended) dont belond either.

Still it seems many are extremely angry at those of us who said anything about politics. So I would appolgize again. It was never my intention to seem unsympathetic to what happened. I have many relatives in the UK as well.

I really truly wish everyone well.

As far as people who commented negatively against the Brits. I think they are wrong.
The Brittish have a long history of being amoung the most determinted and resolute.
And from what I can see the medical and police responded in an exemplary way to the crisis as it happened.

Hmm. I have a very clear response to this post, and a rather bad taste forming in my mouth. But I'll swallow both, cause though this is something that will come to the fore, this isn't the time or place. (/120/b1/53086/1.html)

I'm watching MSNBC at work - seeing some of the memorials that so closely resemble the ones I saw 4 years ago every day in New York and New Jersey. My heart goes out to the folks mourning and whom still may not know the fate of their friends and loved ones. :(
