For those that aren't aware, there have been a number of explosions on the London Underground and now also on buses (unconfirmed reports of 3 explosions on buses) in London:

Initially the underground people said it was a power surge, but judging from what's gone on since, it doesn't look like that.

From CNN: BREAKING NEWS Casualties reported as explosions hit the London Underground subway system and at least one bus. Causes of the blasts are not clear.
Several people have been injured as explosions today rocked the London Underground subway network, prompting its closure. Travelers emerged from tunnels covered in blood and soot. A blast also hit at least one bus, witnesses said. Scotland Yard declared the emergency a "major incident." The cause of the blasts was not immediately known. |

Not enough information at the moment but unlikely to be coincidence that it occurs at same time as G8 summit. Also report just in that similar incident in Brighton.

My initial thought was hardcore G8 protesters but I am beginning to wonder due to the scale of this whether it's something from a fully-fledged terrorist group.

On Radio 5 they've been talking about the mobile networks and apparently during something like this they keep part of the network closed from the public, just for emergency services use, so that they can operate normally.

CNN was reporting "several" explosions on the tube and at least three on the bus lines. The official line was a "power surge", but that seems unlikely given, you know, exploding buses.
At least 10 dead, 90 injured, is what I heard. I hope all SLers are okay... _____________________
