I think it more appropriate to start another thread about the politics of the situation. To day as a community we hurt for london. We send our wishes and prayers and hopes to all of london and to the families and freinds most affected by this tragedy.

The death toll will rise, the bus that exploded can carry 86 people and was reported as being busy, the deaths here have not been counted as it may be a suicide bomb and is a crime scene.
They targeted down to earth ordinary people using buses and trains not polticians, war hawks, peacemakers or whatever political point people want drag in. It's always the ordinary who suffer EVERYWHERE in the world ![]() |

Fuck it, I'm with Tony Blair on this one. I won't let these terrorists mess with my life as an English man. I'm going to say here and now I don't give a damn. I'm not going to weep or be sad. When they reopen the tube I'll go on it. They tried to kill loads of people and they failed cause they are pathetic. Sad and pathetic. Fuck them. They won't change my life, and I will ignore them. They are nothing to me. I think the people dying or dead from today, would have wanted every English citizen to stand proud, dust themselves off, and keep being themselves. Show this will not ruin our way of life. We will go on just fine. I've studied history a lot, and have always had great admiration for the British (English, Scottish, etc ) for being able to do this. Know that you all in England are in my thoughts and prayers today. |

I must thank you all for posting your thoughts in here. I personally live 10 minutes walk from Kings Cross where the biggest fatalities occurred and use the involved tube and bus lines a lot. "There but for the grace of God go I.."
I was also unable to trace my parents all day and have been absolutely beside myself with anxiety. They just rang me now and I am typing in floods of relieved tears. Through this we must remain resolute and retain hope in the better qualities of humanity amid the despair that surrounds us in such circumstances. _____________________

ALthough my comments were more aimed at blaming the terrorists for terrorism and in response for those who said we shouldnt. Jake and the others are correct. I appologize for my overly political commentary. |

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all who have suffered loss in this tragedy and I hope for a speedy and full recovery for all who were/are injured.
I"m on the other side of the pond, and let me tell you I"m very upset and saddened. I really never will understand how folks can do this to others. Just the worst of human behavior. I recently heard a news article on NPR that talked about just this sort of attack and how effective in general the attacks are. It was a study done on the effectiveness of Terrorism. Generally as the broadcast put it, this form of violence is the only tool they can imploy that will make the world listen to their issues and draw attention to their plights. . Kind of a poor mans "Shock and Awe" I think is how they put it. I am so horribly ashamed at how far we have let our country slide into a corrupt cesspool of bad foreign relations and I am even sadder that now our allies are made to suffer at our hand. As with 9/11 my biggest issue with attacks of this nature is that its the innocent men, women and children who suffer in the attacks and not the perpetrators of the crimes and poor policies that have affected these people, in a nutshell.. the beauracracies. My thoughts and prayers are with you all and hope the coming days are peaceful reflective ones. _____________________

Did you not read the thread Mickey? I find political discussions in a thread meant to extend support to people sufferening a real tragedy at best out of place, and really and truly in poor taste. If you have an agenda pursue it in another thread.

My apologies my intention was not to ruffle feathers, but to fix the issue you must address the root of the problem.

Right on! I have always, and will continue to, love and admire the British people. You are much loved on this side of the Atlantic, my friends. Know that, despite our differences, there are no better friends than you. _____________________

Why blame Bush? He's not the one that set the bombs off. Let that go for now, we just need to show solidarity for our friends and loved ones across the pond. I apologize My mind immediately goes to 9/11 and conspiracy. Anyway, I hate politics...I hope all of this suffering ends where it began, at the hands of those responsible. I hope one day we may find out why it has always been that the innocent ones have to suffer *deep pain* |

Today is a sad day. Yesterday was my birthday. Yesterday I was very happy for my self and for the people of London and them getting the Olympics. I woke with hart burn, I woke with a fright like something was truly wrong more then my hart burn. I thought nothing of it. My wife woke up at about 2 and was in and out of sleep the rest of the night. When we got up we seen what happened. To my this is by fare more scary then 9/11. I do not live by a major target. I work out side the City of Chicago but at a place that is not a target. The problem is I work by Trains. I live by trains. I live by busses. I work by busses. Today I am scared.
To all people of the world with family in this tragedy I greave for you. Tonight I will light a candle and pray to the Lord and Lady for your safety and well being. For people blaming Bush and Blare for this I can only state two things. 9/11 was cared on on Bushes watch but the training started in Clintons watch. Bin Ladan was trained by the US in the Carters to Bush 1 watch. We made him and we need to clean up our mess. Don’t blame people who didn’t make him. Blame them for what they did. We need to win in Iraq to win this war now. Like that we are there or not, the war is now there and soon will be on our door step. _____________________

All my love and sympathy goes to everyone caught up in todays events and many thanks for all the kind thoughts towards Brits and Londoners from those 'across the pond' and elsewhere.
I lived in London for 40 years and still visit weekly to see family and clients. My sister passed through Aldgate station 5 minutes before the first attack. We didn't find out for 6 hours that she was ok. My heart goes out to all those who did not make it. London will not even flinch, it never does. Please resist from political commentary in this thread, however valid. We just want to express our sadness and solidarity please. Love to all. Zafu |

The good wishes and warm feelings from so many are welcomed.
Let us take this opportunity also to praise the wonderful work that is even now going on by all the emergency services in London. We cannot thank them enough. |

ok I was up last nigth when it happened and passed out from exhaustion calling family and friends since many travel and I have some in London. Fortunatly they are all safe and I made it to work here across the pond in the US. Otherwise I would have posted much sooner.
To those in London I am sorry to hear about what happened. Any attack no matter where it happens and/or how many times it has happened in the past is still a shock to those it affects. To those that have not yet found thier friends and loved ones my hopes go out to you that they will reach you soon. To those that will find out they have lost someone my sympathy is with you. Why do I feel like singing Kumbyeya (spelling?) _____________________

When I lived in London for a couple of summers, I stayed in an apartment within a couple blocks of the Aldgate Underground Station. It was not a good morning, watching CNN and the BBC.
My best to the UK. Shame and punishment to violent political and religious fundamentalists everywhere. |

Has anyone heard any news from Zapoteth yet? ![]() Pendari, when you asked earlier I checked in-world and he hadn't been in today (it was showing the 6th as his last online date). Just logged in now to check and it's showing the 7th, so it looks like he's been online since it's happened. Hope I'm right on that, but it looks that way. _____________________

I was sad to hear about this when I hopped on msnbc. Very discouraging that the jerks who think this will still solve anything are still around.
