Blaze, the premise of this thread amounts to nothing more than a blanket "you all suck" directed at forum regulars. How did you think people would respond? This is a typical troll posted with complete awareness of exactly what you'd get back, just so you could then point at the replies and say "See?! They're monsters!" This is a classic troll and precisely what I meant about self-fulfilling prophecies.

No I think its about the way regulars treat people in the forums. People here are trying to defend ignorance and hate. I believe at least most of us know this is immoral and shallow.

This sounds an awful lot like "personal attacks are ok, as retaliation". Is it not correct that personal attacks are against TOS, regardless of context?

And please stop misreprenting my position. As I have told you once already, I was not and am not making a blanket indictment of ALL forum regulars.

As far as self-fufilling is concerned, why do we only seen the usual suspects making the attacks?

This is actually a position that has been put forth in the past, with qualification: You need to be on a certain victim list in order to have your own personal attacks qualify as acceptable. Speak to Cocoanut for details on being included on that list.

Welcome to the human race. People are going to be people. We can wish and dream that everyone would post only the most diplomaticly worded opinions with anything that might offend anyone carefully edited out... or we can be realists, accept that people are going to be people, and get on with having discourse.

The forums are (to quote Douglas Adams) "mostly harmless." Nothing more and nothing less. Put them in the proper context, accept that humans are imperfect, don't take things personally even when they're personal, and join in... or set yourself off to the side and refuse to play until someone fixes human nature (aka when hell freezes over).

Of course humans are imperfect. Step around the issue all you want. The point is you know that some people soul pupose on here is to provoke and insult others.

That would be "sole" and "purpose".
