So that should make it clear these forums are not for any kind of rudeness or insults.

You really should practice what you preach. :)

Debate: To engage in argument by discussing opposing points.
Isn't that what adults do here?

If it is, you should give it a shot some time. Every other post you make is a personal attack, which I choose to attempt to rise above and fight with reason.

Clearly, a losing battle. Don't know why I even bother.

Because a skilled troll can give you just enough to think that you are getting somewhere just prior to pulling the rug out from under the entire thread.

I'm not sure I'd want that particular distinction, but then again there are also people who derive pleasure from having their gonads stomped on too.

Most of us have long since given up and use the absurdity to generate more absurdity. I'm pretty certain that our friend imagines himself part of the game when he's actually more akin to the playing surface.

You seem pretty good at it, aside from an inability to distinguish between orthodoxy and workability.

Some lifeforms and abortion should have intersected before birth occured.

Thanks Gabe. I try to be unique. Everyone is so worried about "fitting in" they don't dare step out and say what they think is the truth if it goes against the group think.

I see no need to criticize other people personally, let their actions speak for themselves.

But, if someone uses an insulting word to describe an opponent, that word becomes available to the opponent to examine and use. However, it would be in bad taste to just return the insult. But rather to use the word in an instance that allows the insulter to be targeted generally. It takes some skill, but with time you'll get the hang of it. :D

Hum

I thought it was a favored tactic of Fundamentalist and Republicans to resort to name calling and character assissanation if they find that an argument is not going their way or they want to disrupt a very good Democratic speaker.

Wasn't Anne Coulter recently shouted down at a speaking engagement by some Young Democrats? Can you say "selective memory"? I knew that you could.

No, they start this right from the start. It's an issue of integrity.

Kevn, when someone asks you to refrain from the terms of endearment and you don't.... while not exactly a "personal attack" (in the literal sense), it does tend to raise the hackles because you personally did say it's not really what you're thinking.

Remember, women have a memory for things like that :p

Remember, women are chattle and should be struck regularly like gongs.

yes, the preceding is parody followed by an obscure literary allusion, and does not actually reflect the sentiments of the poster - but Joy probably understands the former and someone might just recognize the latter; if you see neither then I suggest that you forget you read this post.

*walks by wearing a very goofy-looking fireprootf suit, cause it's smouldering in here..*

While abortion is a very heated issue, please try to keep away from personal attacks, or this thread stands a chance of being locked. Thank you.
