As you all know I don't care for the resmod program. With that said I think Barbarra made a mistake and addressed it. Torley came in and clarified the matter. Barbarra is a new resmod and was doing what she was told she could do "use the tools". I think everyone should cut her a little slack. She's one of us guys and not getting paid. Most of this was a clerical error.

Clerical error meaning the res mods were told to use the tools. So she did. She didn't know that they were not suppose to be "on/live". I think this falls on the shoulders of ll and res mod training. Again clerical as she was not trained well enough. I'm not making excuses for anyone I just hate to see anyone getting a forum beat down. Over something that should not of been set in motion to begin with. If the forum settings were correct to begin with , we wouldn't be having this talk. k

I am all for closing the SL discussion forums and having it all migrate over to sluniverse where we can have open uncensored discourse.

And whats with the statement that a thread is off topic? Off topic from what? If the direction of a thread veers from the original topic its a natural progression, sort of like a conversation. I could understand the comment that the thread had veered off course if it was a Happy Birthday notice made in a technical support forum, or even a thread describing one members real life hourly activities made in a SL discussion forum, but come one resmods, dont be idiotic linden robots.

If the forum is discussion, and the posts progress through branches of a discussion let it go. Maybe members would be better off assigning the title "Open Discourse" to all threads in order to not fall victim to the subjective determination that a thread has gone off topic.

Oh I'm not mad at her for doing it, I have nothing against her. I am curious why she evaded my question about IMing me, since she claimed to IM the people involved instead of calling them out publicly, but other than that, I'm not worried about it. It just points to a large problem that clearly they are not being given any real guidance on what to do. It is just another nail in the coffin of an ill-conceived program.

Can you please define the parameters of THE TOPIC that you consider to be ON TOPIC, and, out of curiousity, why dont the resmods just do as they are supposed to do and report the TOS/CS violations rather than acting like our parent and telling us to STOP open discourse. If we want the topic in a thread to change then its our forum, our threads and so we shall veer into the direction we choose. If we violate the TOS/CS then report it to Jeska.

And please, do tell me the approved topic for this thread and define its parameters.

Yup, make no mistake from me I think they need to put this resmod idea to rest too. It's been a bad experience. I have tried to muster up some support for it, but it's just one thing after another. What a mess.

Well, to continue in my contrarian streak of late, it seems to me the cries of "a resmod ate my baby!" outnumber any minor annoyances actually caused by the resmods by about fiftyseven to one. It doesn't seem to be the resmods or the resmod program creating the drama. I think that credit belongs to the community's collective flip-out.

Only the individuals involved in "flipping out" should be given "credit" for the flipping out. There is no reason to smear the community at large for the behavior of a handful.
