I was thrilled when I got married. I had dreams of marital bliss and many babies. Just a few short weeks after I got married, I went to a well known baby place and I oohed and ahhed over all the cute baby things, the sweet sounds that the babies made, the adorable little babies themselves. I asked my hubby if we could start our family. When he agreed, I made the purchase of the baby. Only the baby, though. I was told that since it was only the baby, that it wouldn't take long. Excellent! I made my own shapes, since that is what I do. My friends and my hubby shared my excitement. We couldn't wait on the birth of our first son. Friends were giving me gifts, my mother in law was spoiling me to no end. I even bought us a new house. Made one of the rooms off the master bedroom into an adorable little nursery with a set that I had bought at the clinic. Such a beautiful nursery. As the weeks progressed, I decided to ask about the status of the baby. It worried me a little when I was asked my due date, but I shrugged it off. Okay they are a very busy clinic, tons of babies, with also furniture and other things as well. I patiently gave my due date and was told the baby would be given to me on that date. Well yesterday was that date. November 19th. Friday night I asked about the baby and I was told they dont work on the weekends. Uh oh. What now? Then I was asked to give them a new notecard with the baby information on it and that the baby would be sent to me as soon as possible. When I went to send it, the person with whom I was in IM with had gone offline. Ack! Ok, shrug it off, dont worry. Well yesterday was my due date. I got online to an offline message asking what my question was and about the notecard. Hmmm... Ok... now I was beginning to worry. So when I responded, they were offline but I went on to explain the situation. I didn't get a response. Well today I am still without a baby. They dont work on the weekends. HMmmm... nothing was said about my not getting my baby if my due date falls on the weekend! Well in short, they will have my baby ready for me by 430 pm tomorrow... and I am not even sure that my hubby will even be here to enjoy the event... and furthermore they tell me they have no record of my ever paying!!! Well my dreams of having babies with my hubby here are dashed. I've picked up everything in the nursery, I am wearing black as if in mourning, for I am mourning the death of a baby never to be. Now I have to explain to my hubby when he gets home, that his son will never be. Not sure I can ever go through this again. This truly has broken my heart. I'm sorry, my darling.

I read a story like this on the forums before. My guess is that some of the adoption agencies may not be just real . . . efficient. Maybe try a different one?

Maybe you should adopt a newbie, and teach him everything about being in SL. Later you can reluctantly acknowledge that he has grown up and needs to move out.

Natural Choice Baby SCAM
11-20-2005 15:34
Angela is my best friend and has been waiting for this baby since she paid Natural Choice Family Practice Oct 19th. Very conveniently the creator waited until Nov. 20th to say he has no record of Angela paying him. Convenient, since you can only look back one month in the transactions on the website under My Account. The Owner and their employee's have given Angela the run-around for a month. Saying oops far too often. They are disorganized and bottom line they are out to SCAM you of your lindens.

Hey, I mean all they got from Angela was about 2 usd but it is more to do with their deceitful attitude. It really bothers me that ppl like this would take your money, make promises and never deliver. Beside the money she gave them, Angela has purchased numerous items from other vendors in preparation for the baby. All for nothing since Natural Choice Family Practice won't deliver on their promises.

If this happened to me - whatever but Angela and Biffo have looked forward to having a baby for a special SL experience for a long time. They are both the most incredible ppl you could ever be soo lucky to call a friend. I felt sooooo bad for them that I had to tried to even speak on their behalf. I thought this may be get an answer from them, but they are not willing to resolve this issue. They could care LESS.

I think it may be faster to create the baby in RL then it would be for them to look and copy this baby out of their inventory. I have other friends that have had the same experience. I hope if this has happened to you, that you will post also. Hopefully it will not happen to others and ruin your SL experience.

I see the only NATURAL CHOICE here is NOT to DEAL with these thieves.

Consumer reports are against the ToS, from what i've seen in other threads. And also people on the forums are jerks...

Hope everything works out.

How sad! :( Angela, I hope when you finally are able to come out of mourning, and if you try again with another agency, that you will finally fufill your dreams. I have other friends who have had successful adoptions, and I'll be happy to ask around for a good referral. You have my sympathies! *HUGS*

regaurdless of all these rude people, i feel for you.. i too had problems with this business in question and i'm looking forward to another company making babies soon... i personally wanted a little furry baby created for myself and my ex... the creator said that they would have no problem with this at all.. so, on the day i got my shapes, i handed in my order form and happily waited until the ultrasound day at which time i again gave them the order form.. up until this time i only noticed the fact that the employees and creator were chronicly late.. my due date came and went with me IMing the creator several times, this went on for an entire week which eventually led to him just giving me my money back without a word.. he said he'd get to it, he never did.. i'd say avoid this company in question.. they have horrible customer service, the creator is rude and they seem to think that it's alright to treat customers like crap, well SL is an ever expanding world, there will be a new baby making company at some point, and guess what? a good bedside manner and promptness will win out..

also.. to everyone making snidey little comments.. get a hobby.. stop pissing on other people just because they want to "reproduce" and have prim babies.. it's their Linden, they can spend it how they like.. got a problem with that? too bad.

Willow: that would be a really cute idea if it was said so from the beginning "you'll 'give birth' during this week".. but their replies were either plain rude or there were no replies at all.

Yes... my friend and I both went through one of the pregnancy and child-rearing programs within SL. They were fabulous in the beginning of the program, and throughout the entirety of the term.

Come the scheduled birth date for my child, I was not at all impressed by the "delivery." While, I got her on time, the method of delivery was brusque with a simple, "here is your child" in the waiting room and the new bundle being sent to my inventory. Considering the exciting ultrasound I had had scheduled earlier in the term, I had thought the delivery would have had a bit more pizzazz. But, I suppose I just had illusions of grandeur.

When I went home I opened the package to find that I got the wrong size child -- luckily a contact to the creator swiftly rectified the situation. Unfortunately later that day, a glitch in SL caused my child to be lost in the depths of oblivion. Even though I explained the situation in thorough detail, I still had to pay for a new child (I later found out the creator had had a similar bug that morning with a few of their project children).

Although, I never got a refund, I must say the creator had IMed me once after the fact and asked if everything was going okay.

I just know I won't be having children on SL again.

Wow...

I read up and unless i missed something, the only negative comments I see are requests for paragraph marks. And even those are mildly phrased.

If you think this is hard core, I can point you to several threads where people have the knives out and are running full bore flame wars.

Surreal: I'm not talking about this thread only, i saw a thread a while ago where a girl waited a month to get her baby from the same company, and i'd say 75% of the thread were people being rude, and outright obnoxious.

Ok, I apologize for my mild humor. I will refrain from making any more comments. Well, just one more rejected baby name:

3. Baby (no copy) (no transfer)

In RL you wait 9 months and can pay tons and tons and tons....

And all this customer issue stuff??? Seems a lot less painful than actual labor.
