And you know perfectly damn good and well that I can handle being questioned - that sentence is just yet a whole nother personal attack.

My reaction is my own problem - yes, you have that perfectly correct. I was stupid as crap to sit around in puzzlement when you told everyone you would rate my personality a one-star (which stands for terrible), because I dared to criticize the system on classifieds, of star-rating and no comments.

I'm glad you're glad I won't be reacting to you like that in the future. None of this is good for either one of us.

Oh for fuck's sake, what are you going on about now? I rated that thread one star not because you were questioning the rating system, but because of how you acted in the thread. You went and checked who had posted in the classifieds so that you could say that unless they had, their opinion did not matter. That is what irritated me about that thread, so please quit rewriting history. I even went on to clarify to you both publicly and privately what I meant by it, and to apologize, which you accepted - but apparently still hold a grudge since you manage to repeatedly refer to it while at the same time misrepresenting what happened.

Again, my saying you can't be questioned apparently is not a personal attack, get over yourself. Your complete overreaction and repeated misuse of the word parlay is what I am responding to. I asked you a question because I did not understand where you were getting that impression from. P.S. Reading further on in this thread, yes, having reiterated now what you meant about that one-star thing, yes I do remember you saying that now. You didn't say it at the TIME you rated my personality a one-star, though. I guess the shock of all that has made me forget your explanation later.

P.S. You have always had a problem with any kind of resident group that has the slightest authority or benefits - mentors, greeters, helpers - you're opposed to it all, so you instantly jumping to "they will be able to ban whoever they want" did not surprise me in the slightest.

That is not the slightest bit true. YOU have always had a problem whenever I have pointed out any conflicts of interest - such as, for example, mentors being able to pass out lists of who they think new members should visit and buy from.

If the resident moderator scheme is deemed to be a success, perhaps the complaints about non-Lindens having this or that power could be be solved by offering the resident moderators the option of becoming a LInden.

Resident to Linden has been tried now and appears to be working, with near unanimous approval. Anyone expressing even the slightest concern at all about anything to do with the the idea is met with scorn and ridicule. So why not combine the ResiMod idea with the ResiLinden idea?

Exactly. It is one thing to have a paid Linden staffer hold your game future in their hands, and quite another to have some other resident just like you having that power.

And that is - let me hasten to say - IF it came to that, which is a clearly implied threat in Robin's post, i.e., "at least for the near term."

Not only that, but I'm not sure how this board works, but on the others, the mods are able to tell who is saying what about everything. They can tell who is an alt of who, track IP addresses, and tell who all has voted in what poll. (Which I read at vbulletin can be done with their polls, as well.)

Think about THAT. I don't mind paid Linden staff having access to all that and any other knowlege like that. I do mind having Joe Blow know all of it. And in cases where Joe Blow is actually somebody's business competitor in the game . . . well, you can imagine how people would like that.

P.S. This is not to mention the fact that only certain residents will now be able to star-rate threads. RESIDENTS. Just like me. Only - they get to say their opinion on threads and I don't.

Coco, just volunteer. Even if you don't get selected in the first round, I suspect there will be openings later on when people get sick of doing it.

OK, to sum up, I apologize for my emotion, to Cristiano and to everyone. For flying off the handle. For forgetting that Cristiano did try to explain and apologize for that one-star personality remark. I can see that maybe he didn't mean the parlaying comment to be anything particularly bad.
